So, I'm creating this in my journal since that's where I first put it. It's not finished yet (and I don't think I'll be working on Awakening so no hope for my 2nd story bardic) but hopefully I'll finish it. I'm not sure if I'll enter this long thing into Bardics or just have it made into a smallish book. I kind of wanted it to be a sort of ramble that one might do in their boredom, but I also want it to be clear on what I'm talking about. Um, I think I might have made a thread about this but it's nothing like that. Just want feed back on the work itself.
--A look at Brother Crow and His Aspects.
It is known among most that Brother Crow is the Great Spirit of the forest of Glomdoring. He shares the forest with the spirit, Mother Night. Brother Crow is the spirit who teaches and watches the guild of Blacktalon. We, of the Blacktalon, dedicate our lives to his teachings and philosophies. Many try to sway our thoughts and beliefs by saying our great spirit is 'tainted'. Yes, he -was- at one point, perhaps, but he is no longer for sure. However, that is another story altogether and one not to be written upon in this book. As funny as this may seem, I will try to be as unbais as possible but this is quite hard. Harder than one may think.
A bit of history, I think, is needed first. Long before the Taint, the forest of Gloriana, what is now Glomdoring, was watched over by the eye of Raven. Wise, kind Raven. An eccentric, trustworthy soul, as some believe, he was. Raven was also friends of the Great Spirit of the Serenwilde, sister forest of Glomdoring. This spirit was White Hart. After the Taint, and the change of the forest of Gloriana into Glomdoring, White Hart and Crow have become rivals.
Now, it may be question, what is the taint? Well, the event in which this 'entity' was brought about was by the Emperor Ladantine VII of the Old Celestine Empire. He had decided to travel to the Supra plane, which is now known as Astral. In doing so, he released a creature known as Kethuru, the Almighty. Kethuru was/is a soulless, a being consumed by hunger and need for destruction. It has been long since the release of Kethuru, and yet...still here we are. In a conflict battle of 'taint' vs. 'light. 'Natural' vs. 'Unnatural'.
I ramble much, I suppose and I apologize for this. My book is about Brother Crow and his aspects. I willl speak of them now. Brother Crow is considered by some as a malignant and vicious spirit whereas others see him as a wicked trickster and a scavenger.
Perhaps...he is all yet none? Or maybe those who see him as wicked are correct? Whatever the truth is, that is for you to decide. Four aspects does our spirit have. They are: Dark Spirit, Black Sorrow, False Memory and Blood Thirst. The first that will be discussed is Blood Thirst, as many perceive him to be about mindless, senseless killing and such. This, however, is untrue. He is not without a mind, nor common more sense.
