I don't get it, I got the critter long, but I just keep eating stuff and nothing else happens after that.

It's like Evo, just not nearly as detailed. You eat things, you get bigger. I was disappointed though when I got it to what I think is the max and I couldn't do anything else. Oh well, it was a good, quick diversion!

I don't think you finished, Ricther. After you eat the last fishie (when the screen is black), you need to eat the bubble with the red dot, and you start again as a new species.

Anyway, very pretty game! Would be nice if there was a 'save' feature though.

I think the orange things hurt you...

You gotta eat the orange things, kinda hard to explain how, but it can be done. Know how when you eat things, dots get darker on your critter? The enemies have similar things, and you gotta eat em off.

You respawn as a new critter?

Yeah, as one of the blobs with other blobs floating around it.

I played this ages ago, and then just played it again when Matt posted about it on the Forge (which is probably where Richter got it too) and completed it all the way. Cairam, when he says "eat the orange thing" he means a little thing that looks like a food blob, but it has an orange dot in the middle, not the big creatures that turn orange.

Note that there are cheats. Press the "`" key, (That's the backwards apostrophe thingy next to the tilde) and then certain keys activate certain dev-leftover functions, showing FPS being the most useless, and producing food, species transformers, evolving and making your mouth bigger being some of the more play-related. I'll let you find them on you own.

Solidish white circles are your hp, think of ye 'old Zelda games, with the hearts, the less you have the closer you are to dieing, the more, the more hp you have, you have to avoid the little nuclear symbol circles of the other fishies (or their mouths if they look like you) and eat off their solildish white circles, when you eat off their last one they poof and turn into lots of little guys without mouths that you eat to get bigger, I'm up to the second big-big fish (boss?) atm, with 2 sets of arms myself. It's interesting as a temporary diversion.

Edit:Well I evolved into a circle thingie by eating the yellow dot from the last fish, but it gets boring after awhile, oh well.
