Okay, so recently I became a telekinetic geo. I know there are a lot of mage fighters out there, even a few with telekinetics. The problem is, I just don't see much potential there...I think it's mostly because I'm used to an affliction-and-hindering-based class (Moondancers), and Geos are completely different, so I've gotta completely rethink the way I fight.

Right now, my strategies are very limited. I basically meld, weave phantom, then either staff, or something like choke/throatlock/burst to try to get heartburst. Telekinesis seems almost worthless as a fighting skill, half the time I just keep up forcefield and don't even bother using it.

Are there really any other viable strategies for telekinetic mages other than demesne, beat on them, and hope they don't get away or kill you first?

You have two options.

Heartburst - spam throatlock-burst-trip (I prefer this) or choke-burst-throatlock.

Damage - set a dagger, usually with mantakaya or charybdon.

Phantom then, keep them phantomed. Make sure when you staff @target you also dissolve @target. Keep protection scroll down. When the going gets tough, the tough don't get going. Rephantom and stoneflesh (or bubble in my case).

Keep in mind, when doing psionics, you can spam illusions.

Phantoms doesn't hit stoned people. But nice saying, Guru.

Doesn't hurt for when they return from being stoneflesh.

It hits during bubble, at least.

If phantoms doesn't hit during stoneflesh, it shouldn't hit during bubble...

I'd much prefer having stoneflesh. Moving the person away is a major, major annoyance.

It owns when fighting against groups though.

Anyway, I haven't even bothered with daggers. Are they even worth using since they're always 8 seconds on id? It takes 8 seconds to hit, and one second (for trans) to focus off. Seems like a waste of a locked channel.

EDIT: Also, does anyone actually know if it's possible to chasm people after stoneflesh? Or how long stoneflesh lasts, to time it with chasm? There aren't many people who want to help me test these things for some reason...

Moving the person has its up sides and downsides. If you used phantoms then stoneflesh phantoms used to continue hitting during stoneflesh, I don't know if it still does or not but if they nerfed stoneflesh so that phantoms don't hit then to be fair bubble should recieve the same nerf.

EDIT: Don't forget as a geo chasm is good for you, barrier works well with it.

Didn't think so. Any guess how long it lasts, or does that depend on some other factor?

I THINK either 9, 10 or 11 seconds, but it's somewhere around that.

joe gets stonefleshed and still has the phantoms afflictions hitting him, thats how it used to work, did they change it?

As I said, I don't think Phantoms hits while you are stonefleshed.

I may eventually find someone who will let me test and play with it. If it doesn't hit, I wonder if the timer is just paused and it will go back to hitting after stoneflesh, or if it just dies off.

So I was right?

Not that I'm an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems to go better for me if I ignore Telekinesis for the most part. Which makes me sad, since I'd much prefer to use purely Psionics. However, locking Leglock, a mantakaya dagger, and either Forcefield or Magnetize seemed to work decently.
