Congrats Amarysse, Kharaen, Saran, Vanthan and Anaria! I've only seen Kharaen's design (which is amazing, the moment I saw it my first thought was "I hope she submit this to the Beauty Contest"), but I do want to see the other designs that won. It's a shame they were all artisans, though!

Anyways, would anyone mind posting the other winning designs so we could all see them?

Amarysse:
A dream of pristine earthly beauty has been realized in the lush,
verdant hues of an ancient forest. Mossy greens and sunlit yellows have
been woven into a pattern of velvety leaves in a variety of shapes that
provide a soothing backdrop for the weaver's vision. In the centre of
the tapestry, bound within an intricate circular frame of looping,
stylised gold vines, two immense trees stand tall and proud: one
luminous and pale as the moon, the other dark and penumbrous as a
raven's wing. The branches that stretch upward from their mighty trunks
are inextricably intertwined, and even the gnarled roots that appear
here and there between rugged grey stones and clumps of bright
wildflowers seem to reach longingly across the span of earth that
separates them. Tiny faelings cavort among the leaves as a majestic
ivory hart gazes on, while a large, blue-eyed raven perches in state
upon the massive crown of his companion's golden antlers. A brilliant
azure sky in the background is dotted with pinpoints of white and
silver, and though a tenebrous haze looms in the distance, a murky
morass of ominous blacks and greys, for this brief moment captured in
lustrous silken thread all is in perfect balance.

Moi:
Woven from the blackest cloth, this delicate tapestry has been lovingly
painted with the magnificent view of the Basin's seas from the peak of
Mount Avechna, countless blendings of colour have been employed to give
the tapestry an almost life like appearance. Minute gem flakes have been
sparingly dusted over the inner and crystal seas, sparkling as light
falls upon them. No hint of the taint exists on the tapestry save for
the wyrden woods of Glomdoring. Far above stands the White Hart, his
silvery antlers gently pressed against Raven's beak. They gaze at each
other as old friends, a single wing touched against the White Hart's
antlers. Faces decorate the border of the tapestry painted so faintly
one might not notice them. Many different races are represented, each
showing differing emotions as they look at the two Great Spirits meeting
for the last time.

In case anyone was curious, here's the first place and second place descriptions:

Appearance:
a tapestry of primeval woodland harmony
Dropped:
A large tapestry hangs here, its radiant colours and artful design depicting a
scene of primeval woodland harmony.
Examined:

Appearance:
a demonic lyre
Dropped:
A demonic lyre has been abandoned here, its cruel edges glinting wickedly in the
light.
Examined:
The frame of this lyre has been fashioned from a single piece of ebony
lumber, its wood carved into the semblance of a spinal cord, each
vertebrae splintered and twisted. Thin shards of onyx have been inlaid
over the splintered edges, giving them a cruel appearance to such an
extent that their jagged edges seem capable of drawing blood at a mere
touch. A small, skull-shaped handle has been grafted on the center of
the lyre's frame, the eye sockets large enough to fit a hand, protecting
the musician from the barbs that cover the rest of the gruesome
instrument. The torsos of a pair of ruby demons have been attached to
the ends of the harp, their bodies chiseled with sinewy muscles, and
spines jutting from their backs in sharp ridges. Their outstretched arms
reach out towards the sharply slanting crossbar, hands vainly clutching
onto the onyx. The crossbar has been carved into twin spears, ruby gore
splattered casually against their lengths and along their broad blade.
The lyre is strung with seven strands of merian gut, each one tinted in
a different shade of crimson red.

I'd post up the others, but I don't know what they look like.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Saran, well, now you see his.
EDIT2: The demonic lyre was my second choice. If wyverns and firegems were a commodity, this is what I would of submitted:

QUOTE
Appearance:
a fiery mandolin
Dropped:
A mandolin has been lost here, its firegems flickering with a fierce beauty.
Examined:
Sanded planks of rich mahogany wood have been elegantly assembled into a
teardrop base, its neck a graceful confection of wood that arches gently
from this base. Tautly stretched over the wood are thin patches of
mottled wyvernskin, their scales as ebon as a starless night. The
pebbled skin is pulled in tight around the oval amplification hole, with
small firegems embedded around. Each gem is tiny, the stones shaped and
smoothed into a perfect circle. They blaze as though they were truly on
fire, their inner flames flickering between deepest crimsons and vibrant
oranges. Installed along the sides of the head of the instrument are
tuners chiseled from onyx and ruby, each one given a smooth polish that
causes the gems to sparkle with an otherworldly luminescence. Five pairs
of silken strings are snugly strung from the tuners and stretch down to
the amplification hole in the teardrop base. The strings have been
tinted crimson and gold, their shimmering colours vibrant against the
dark wyvernskin.

Vanthan's

This silken tapestry covers the length of an entire wall and portrays in
extravagant detail a scene from the minutes right before the fall of Old
Celest. At the forefront of this piece is the last Lord General
of Old Celest, Dolph Inalai, leading a charge of paladins in an attempt
to repel the tainted hordes who are also shown trying to make their way
into the city. The scene is stitched in vivid detail, even down to the
silver used to give life to the armour of the Lord General, bringing him
majestcally to the forefront. Even though the tapestry focuses on the
battle, one can see Princess Marilynth atop the Pool of Stars engulfed
in a brilliant white nimbus as Lolly Pringle tackles Emperor Ladantine.
In the background, sapphires have been crushed into a fine dust and
spread over the Crystal Sea which is shimmering in the distance.
Caligraphically stitched in old common at the bottom of this piece are
the words, "Never Forget."

On a side note to the Admins, maybe if a contest like this was ever held again, all designs should be submit as tapestries?

Then the chandelier and instrument wouldn't have been won anything tongue.gif
Veonira2007-01-20 20:57:25
Okay. Then maybe only artisan designs ohmy.gif.

But I love all of those designs, Amarysse's is absolutely beautiful. If it weren't for it not making any sense for Veonira to own it, I'd want one. tongue.gif

I was secretly hoping for Ialie's ass-shaped stone necklace to win.
Diamondais2007-01-20 20:57:45
Anyone catch what Anarias submited?
Saran2007-01-20 20:57:47
sidenote: Has anyone received credits yet?
Diamondais2007-01-20 20:58:16
Give it time, they dont send them right away.

WTF are you doing in Seren? Come to Glomdoring! Now!

Ahem. I'm totally getting some neutral party to go get Amarysse and Kharaen into Clockwork Craftwork.

No stealing Kharaen. glare.gif
Hazar2007-01-21 03:07:06
I will fight you for her, and as long as Krellan isn't there to help you, I will win.

Come on, your economy doesn't need the help. Ours does.

EDIT: Hmm...trying to kidnap a Seren for their skill and brainwash them! Could be fun! Now to obtain permission...

Sure, sure. Point out my weaknesses. tongue.gif

No really, no stealing Kharaen. She's too awesome to lose.

edit: And what the heck? You need permission to convert?
Hazar2007-01-21 03:10:56
It's kind of hard to do a kidnap RP without the target's permission. tongue.gif
Kharaen2007-01-21 13:09:07
Pfft, Kiarian already added a bunch of awesome artisan designs to Glomdoring's cartel. I wish I could remember that bunkbed she designed...

Edit: And Clockwork Cartel, and Magnagora's cartel...
Edit2: Sides, I'm not paying a yearly fee to join any cartel tongue.gif

If she goes to Glomdoring Im gonna go there and drag her all the way to Serenwilde, tie her to the Moonhart Mother Tree, sap her, thornlash all her limbs, rent someone to fling a hangman on her, and hire centaur guards to make sure she doesnt get out. mad.gif

Congratulations to all the winners! I havent heard or seen Amarysse in the Wilde yet though... unsure.gif
Saran2007-01-21 13:51:36
Amarysse is a Spiritsinger, don't think she's a novice
Soll2007-01-21 14:51:21
She's a level 1 novice in the Singers.
Kharaen2007-01-21 15:17:26
If I was the Admin I'd likely had have given the level 1 novice the credit prize instead of the Seal. Though it kind of makes me feel like this is an alt just out for creds :/ So maybe it was sweet justice to give her the seal instead.
