Imagine that in some twisted turn of events, the Taint had actually travelled to Celest and not Magnagora, leaving the Stone of Truth intact. Or Marilynth accidentally blew up Mag instead of Celest and then New Magnagora was built. And Hallifax's plan to blow the winds south backfired and instead drew them northwards, tainting Serenwilde while leaving Gloriana intact, or even... tainting Ackleberry and sending Serenwilde into frozen time! The point is though, if everything were the 'opposite' of what they were now, what would it be like?
Mag would probably still have the Stone of Truth, and the guilds would be Fatalists, Geomancers, and Paladins? For bards, er... I don't know. What kind of angels would the guardians summon? Would they still follow the Light, or some other force? I recall that the original city of Mag revolved around a theme of fate... or at least that's what it sounds like from the names. What would the mage demesnes be like, a patch of flowers? And what would be their specialized race, an evolved form of land-based Merians? (What was the main race of the original Mag anyway)
Hmm and then Celest, that would be pretty neat... I can see a goth lolita version of Raziela, and Elothulu of Eternal Darkness perhaps. I guess they might have Nihilists, Ur'Guard, Aquamancers, and... can't think of a bard guild again, maybe Cacophony. Would they have regular Viscanti or fishy Viscanti? If Celest had Great Houses I suppose they'd be under the old Emperors and Empresses, which had symbols of the starfish, whale, and... some other animal.
And then the communes... ooh this could be pretty fun. Night would be the 'good' and Moon the 'ebil'. Instead of White Hart there'd be... Black Hart? Would the Serenwilde consider themself Wyrden eventually? Or better yet... if Ackleberry was tainted, you'd have an evilFather Sun Sister Lake (oops, pardon my city ignorance) versus a pure Mother Night! (I use the word evil very loosely).
So there are a lot of possibilities and details that would've changed. I think I'd have been a tainted Aquamancer, the concept sounds really cool. Your thoughts, and where would you see yourself in this alternate Lusternia?

Guilds would still be Ur'Guard I think. Pretty sure Paladins were warriors of Celestia and based in New Celest. It seems the Ur'Guard were still the main military of the Empire and the Paladins some small, 'elite' groing of nobles and rich priests Ladantine took Ur'guard, not Paladins. That shows something.
Tainted Serenwilde would be really cool, but Raven kinda HAS to fall to Crow. Too cliche to not!

I think Serenwilde falling for the taint while cities staying the way they were would be more interesting.
With Glomdoring, it would be dark, tainted forests of the wild vs cities, bastions of civilisation and reason.
Actually, not sure how interesting would that be. And there'd be monopoly problems like there used to be before Glomdoring...

Besides the story of a once great empire falling and trying to fix what it broke, I think it would be exactly the same.

Ahem, Mother Lake. Father Sun is outside the Basin.
Also, it'd be neat. Though, would things really have changed? Skills would be different, but in the end it may be just the same turn out.

The Glomdoring was Wyrden because Isune and Viravain tried to fix Viravain's forest (And did! PROPAGANDAPROPAGANDAPROPAGANDA)
If it was Serenwilde that was tainted, Viravain would have probably returned, lol'd, and moved into Gloriana and formed the Gloriana Commune. (Assuming that Serenwilde was still opened first.) But they'd probably end up having some event where Charune went bugnutters and all wyrden, maybe. And it's Sister Lake and Brother Bear for Ackleberry. Also. Boo at Hallifax. They should be tainted. Maybe then they'd learn to keep their winds to themselves.
Edit: But wait, would a Tainted Serenwilde have ever summoned Charune back to the First World? Dun dun dun.

Nah, the Ur'Guard located to Mag because of the taint. For the same reason, they prolly would have located to celest, and the paladins would have aligned with magnagora. Neither, at that point, was based out of one city; if you could say they were, they were both from celest.

I think this would be a great idea for an event.
Magnagora could taint Celest. And its planes...
Celest could be destroyed... and they could bring out Hallifax to accomodate the refugees.

So many novices would be left dead along the way for the Hallifax exodus. They may or may not have cuts which came from my swords. You won't prove a thing. They died from exposure and the long march.
Survival of the fittest. They were weak. The Fates didn't like them, cut their threads. They succumbed to wounds.
Let's do this thing. I gots them blades nice and sharps.
Also, Aiakon is going to get hugged someday, just for this idea alone.

Event idea:
Someone opens a rift into an alternate universe where Ladantine decided to go up to Astral from the Pool of Stars, rather than the Stone of Truth.

I'd love to have Serenwilde tainted. I suspect the existing culture of ancient and secretive mysticism, long forgotten memory and fae-worship would be corrupted into absolute pride and individual freedom no matter the cost, complete refusal to acknowledge the past in favour of unhindered opportunism and political maneuvering in the present, and the abandonment of worship and communion with the nature spirits in favour of a jealous hoarding of what will instead be viewed as ignorant children, following Moon's desire to control as many as she can get her grubby little fingers on.
Actually, on second thought, all that would really need to change is a few descriptions.

Good idea. Then probably we'll go in, Celest forces Ladantine to stop going to Astral, Magnagora urges Ladantine to continue what he's doing, Serenwilde and Glomdoring rallies everyone to destroy the cities and because of the entire chaos, god knows, the Akashic Records go crazy, Ladantine will go berserk and confused cause he doesn't know whether to go to Astral or not and BOOOOOOOOOM, both Alternate Lusternia and the Real Lusternia blow up, causing the game to shut down and we all go whine and cry at the lost of our favorite game.

No no, the time period would be the same, so all that stuff is already in the past...
