Does anyone know if the type of snake that you put in your pit matters in regards to damage dealt and afflictions?

Well I always assumed the snake you put in is the one that will be there when somebody falls in. So cobras will blind and sprawl you, just like they would in the desert.

I think the snake you put in is the one that attacks them, but I think their behavior is different than normal.

Been disarming all my traps recently and tripped a few by accident. I've found the sand cobras I put in behave the same way the do in the desert. Blindness, knockdown(which is especially nice cause it stops climbing), or just plain damage.

Yeah, very annoying, I had to kill those snakes to get out of the pit even with no one hitting me.

Well I'll tell you the easy way out since nobody will be falling in mine any time soon. Just shield and then climb out. If there is somebody else there or maybe a guard/avatar/whatever then you're screwed though.

The snakes do what they do when you attack them. So yeah, cobras will blind you, vipers shrivel arms, etc. Also to stop them shielding and climbing out you'll need a shield breaking snake.

So, I could run around, collect different kinds of snakes, and have a really nasty combo? Muahahaha...
Unknown2007-07-21 19:57:51
Cept there's three(?) kinds of snakes so not much to combo with. And do any of them do anything as useful as the cobras? Don't know of any that break shields certainly.
Clearly we need to introduce an new area with boa constrictors that require people to writhe off of
