Am I the only one to notice that there are no mystic pathways on Astral anymore? I can see the ones on Prime just fine.. but not Cosmic or Astral..

No, it is just another nerf to ecologists and tracking. There will be no more on astral. It sucks.... and is stupid that we cant have them there..... but hey, what can ya do.....

So I take it every class can no longer sphere hop? Mushroom circles and such have also been nerfed?

Mystic Pathways were never intended to be created on Astral. It was an unreported bug that was permitting them to be created and after it was found the bug was fixed and the pathways removed.

Meh. That does suck, since it isn't at all obvious why they wouldn't be usable on Astral when they're usable between areas on Prime. (Disclaimer: I do suffer from the loss of the paths as well, although I have no access to the ab files on path creation.)

Edit: Just want to clarify, I'm just a bit disappointed at the change. Not seriously upset or anything, though.

I'm sorry, Bakulao and I created those mystic pathways because we thought it was legal. There was no written rule, no such statement in the AB file so we thought it was ok. The existence of these pathways are, however, open to everyone. Even other cities knew about these pathways, as we had requests from other cities to create mystic pathways in astral. The locations of these astral pathways are all listed in the Hartstone Project.

I myself do not have powers to use those pathways.
This arti that was on auction should be sold as regular arti!
And i think pathways on astral were fine, as long as there will be something that can destoy those pathways.
For now there isnt and those pathways cant be destroyed at all.

That is true. I suggested our envoys at that time a skill that would destroy mystic pathways be added in ecology. Same requirements and casting time.

Dont worry they no longer exist, and to answer your question Zacc, yes mushrooms can be made on astral, so basically you have to have a cubix really to hop around on astral, or lots of mushroom circles. The pathfinding artie boots are a joke now, poor Kaervas owns a useless pair. And with you going nuerotic within 5 mins of being on astral now, until they fix that, there really is no fun up there to be had for anyone.


But yea I dont see a problem with pathways on astrals, only ecologists and trackers can use them, its not like they are abused by people, they are the cheap man's cubix, and well guess we dont get a cheap man's cubix anymore....

Hermit and demesne center work too, there are several ways to sphere hop.

And the 'cheap man's cubix' is 800cr + {spores | hermit | demesne center}. Considering that you often get jumped in the main cubix room too, it would also be a 'safer' cubix.

So do you think that every artifact that's ever been auctioned should be a regular arti? That would be insane, since I recall that the first auction also included things like never-ending vials of bromide, mana, and health. Unless those've been nerfed? Which wouldn't be fair to the people who bid on them pre-nerf, either, since it'd mean they end up with something less than what they paid for. Plus some people really enjoy having unique or rare things, which it was my impression the auction items would be. rolleyes.gif

He never said all auction artis should be sold as regular ones, however, the other IRE games have an equivilant (vibrating stick) which opens up wormholes, and that is a regular artie. So it isn't unreasonable that he would think this one should be.

And i'm sorry if you got the wrong impression, but the auctions are usually to test how popular a certain set of arties will be, with just a few thrown in that will only ever be auction arties.

Never go by the AB files.. For some reason, the published skill descriptions, that we use to determine what to spend lessons/credits on, have no meaning when it comes to nerfing. It's always a "bug".. even though it's been around, and widely used, for some time now.

So much for being able to actually hunt or harvest on Astral now. It's impossible for me to travel on Astral without running into a horde of creatures I have absolutely no way of surviving.. and those aren't even linked creatures. Next we'll find out that nature growth and guard do not work on Astral. Yay for making Astral a plane for tankers!

Even still, why do mystic pathways no longer exist on Cosmic planes too?
