What languages are you fluent in?

English is my second language, Mandarin Chinese being my first (although, having fallen in disuse, I've practically forgotten it.)
I can also speak a fair amount of Japanese. I'm also pretty decent at Korean.

I plan on learning Japanese and Chinese again when I get into University. Korean's less important to me.

I speak two languages...

English
and Bad English.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I speak English...and PERL, Java (unfortunately) C, C++, Qbasic, Assembly, and PHP. I speak others, but not fluently.

I'm actually about the join the Air Force for one of two jobs (ideally) one of which is either a crypto or airborne linguist. So then I'll speak another real, normal people language.

I speak English and I should be able to speak French fluently, I've just let it go for too long. If I took the effort to relearn it, I'd probably get it again.

Polish is my first language. Surprisingly, people whom I talk with say I do not have a Polish accent at all.

Besides it, I can speak English (at a rather decent level, but not as high as I want it to be), simple but (more often than not) badly-mangled German and I know some words from Latin, French and Japanese.

It's real fun when you mix them all together though.

English is my main language but my first language was Welsh. Although I can no longer speak it I can still follow a conversation. I'm also learning German, I can have a conversation in it and my reading in German is quite good but I don't get much practice speaking or writing.

Hmm, well if your going to include computing languages, then VB and some SQL tongue.gif

Computing languages don't count!

I'm fluent in Java, C++, Perl, Python, Lua, C, SQL, and Visual Basic.
Unknown2007-02-03 01:33:01
I'm supposed to be a (mostly machine, not computer) programmer when I finish my studies, yet I only know C, C++ and php basics. Not a bit of Assembler.

So stop mentioning your computing language fluency and giving me complexes. Or I'll go all emo on you all. I'm tired, you know I can.

If they don't count, why did you mention them?

Just English, although I'm getting better at American.

If I'd carried on with French I'd still be fluent in that, but I forgot it all. sad.gif

English and Tagalog (Philippine Main Language) is my main (sometimes I combine those two when speaking to friends, and we call it Taglish).

Next would be the local languages like Waray, Cebuano and Illonggo though not that fluent.

A bit Japanese will do (Just to understand some Anime, argh!)

I can speak pigeon SQL. I used to be conversationally fluent, but I've let it go.
Exeryte2007-02-03 03:37:00
English, and I am fairly fluent with German.

My first language is the language of the birds.
Gandal2007-02-03 03:55:49
Korean, then English, and I'm better at English now, though I'm still quite fluent in Korean. Also a bit of French.
Verithrax2007-02-03 04:23:04
Portuguese, English, C, Python, Perl, Bash, Lisp and POV-Ray SDL with varying levels of skill.
Unknown2007-02-03 05:51:27
English, Chinese and I can listen and barely speak the Hokkien dialect. Plus a little teeny bit of Malay. Don't forget Singlish.

And does pig latin count?
Shorlen2007-02-03 06:27:45
I can speak American and have contemplated learning English as well.
