The skill hunting has alot of techniques to capture/kill animals. But sometimes it just comes down to chasing it down and beating and or choping its head off!!! How much strength if best for a hunter?

More is always better for warriors, regardless of skill choice, or desire to hunt or fight. Only time strength has a down side is when its coupled with some bitchin balance penalty like Tae'dae and Igasho have. The question was a little unclear, so if I misunderstood you, say so and clarify.

You're right on target!

only time hunting skills are usefull is when you don't have a weapon to kill with.

I found it helpful in lollipen.

It's alright, but I think Totems(since your character is a Serenguard) is alot more useful ALL the time.
Anyways as a warrior, more strength is always good. I'm not sure how to relate that to hunting...

I (somewhat) agree with Dinoniel, AKA MrShrimp. Totems are more useful than Hunting, or rather they are easier to use. So less experienced players are encouraged to choose them. Hunting/Tracking is mostly useful for PvP, although Totems/Moon (Totems/Stag to a lesser extent, but still) are useful for PvP too, albeit less.
Anyway, as he said - the more STR, the better. For PvE, for PvP - you name it. Races with balance bonus (makes them regain balance easier) include Furrikin, who are too weak to be good warriors, faeling, who are very weak unless you come from Glomdoring (they get specced races) and aslaran, who used to be very good but now are only decent. Races with a balance penalty are Tae'dae and Dwarves, who are very weak as warriors (yes, despite their supposed warrior abilities), and Igasho, who are still weak but not as weak as Tae'dae.
I used to bash as an unspecced faeling one day though, and I was able to kill manifestations. So PvE is not as hard as PvP, as obvious as it may sound.

I disagree. I can stand and tank most fighters without breaking a sweat, but a linked astral mob can kill me if I stay in the room for more than one round.

Well I'd say Moon is better for PvP. Covens are pretty awesome, and it lets allows people without systems to still be play a significant role in conflict situations. Just my opinion though.

If anything, this only serves to further Cuber's point. PvE is easier because in almost all situations, it's just an issue of damage pacing and knowing when to step away for a quick breather. With PvP, especially as a warrior, you need to work waaaaay harder than that to kill anyone with even a modicum of skill.

Hunting also gives you some defensive possibilities to. camoflauge has helped more than once when I had upset somebody because I liberated some farmers.

You sound like you are sort of maybe confusing the skill of Hunting with hunting/bashing. Well...you can't exactly hunt/bash effectively with only Hunting.
Unknown2007-03-11 19:44:09
Hunting is best for questing, which if done properly can be more profitable and better experience than bashing... and generally more interesting.
You don't need your city specific specialization to be good at PvE, there are plenty of other buffs that can make up for the ten or so lacking skills.
Hunting is, in my opinion, better for lone PvP'ers than any other specializations currently available to warriors (particularly for bonecrushers/axelords).
