I mostly say this because in my experience it can be a true pain to try and keep track of what exactly you put for sale, what sold, what profit you made and so on -especially- if there is more than one person using the shop..

I coded some of this as a zMUD script. Well, not quite. An older version kept track of what got taken out, but I realized after a while that's not what I needed. The later version simply compared what is there to what should be, and produced a report of what needs to be stocked. Of course, it doesn't do the main thing you want -- tell you who bought or stocked things. It just tells you what you need to know to keep your shop stocked.
