People talk about interacting with Elder Gods. I wondered if they are denizens or players asked to play as them.

We're all denizens. I don't know where people got the idea that we're played by someone.

They're all controlled by the Ascended God.

But to be truthful, Adodak, Elder Gods are (for the most part) volunteer positions that hold an Admin and a roleplaying position, to help develop Lusternia. The Admin half being, of course, entirely OOC. So yes, all Elder Gods are players that you can interact with rather than NPCs.

Of course, there's another theory that says they're all in fact played by Estarra's cat. *eyeshift*

They are people too just like you. Except! They have special cookies which are hidden in the sacred jar of yumminess.

Let me correct you here. There are two different types of Gods in Lusternia currently. You have your Elder Gods and you have your Ascended Gods. The Elder gods serve as Administrators for the game but also serve an RP function. The Ascended Gods are purely RP and have no Admin responsibilities. Both are also created quite a bit differently.

Charune eats all of His. So He no longer has anymore and relies on His devoted* mortal followers to deliver them to Him.


*By devoted I of course mean those He chases down for cookies.

Of course, considering how scary Charune gets when he's on his cookie withdrawl... Besides, are you going to say no to a hunter-god who can also zap?

He has to come get His cookie then! And He'll be getting many more for all He's been doing lately.

But don't forget about the Soulless Gods. They're big nasties that periodically try to eat the world, or at least the people at the Megalith of Doom. They're secretly controlled by Lisaeris in an attempt to shut down Lusternia and make us all go back to Aetolia, mostly.
