I didn't know until recently that every time you enter a new action with aeon, the old one is forgotten and the timer is reset. I think with my old system, that would have led to me looping forever if it wasn't the kind of aeon that wore off.
What is the best way to deal with aeon to make sure you don't get into some sort of lock by triggers going off for cures that aren't the priority? Should there be some sort of var that sees whether you're underway with a cure and not go through with it if you are?

Basically, yes. You have your normal curing methods when you aren't hit with aeon, obviously, but you should have a separate set of checks and failsafes for curing with aeon. The actual implementation will vary from system to system, of course, and it can be tricky to get it right. Remember that your priorities with aeon will change quite a bit, and you sometimes need to cure other things before curing aeon (anorexia, slit throat, etc).

My system pauses whenever I'm hit with aeon.
But it gets tricky with Celestines. If done right, a Tarot-using Celestine can hit you with aeon and straight after that, a combo of anorexia and stupidity from their angel. It messes up people if it's done right and if you can stack your afflictions correctly (which I'm still working on as a combatant ). It has been devastating to some people I've fought and makes them freeze for a while (sometimes long enough for me to judgement or prep a judgement), and for others it only slows them down a little bit.
I've never actually been hit with it and since my system is bought and paid for I don't think I have permission to share the piece of coding... but you should spar a Celestine who can do it and test out some theories. I imagine your system should pause to cure anorexia and stupidity if afflicted with it and then cure aeon.

You bought a system that pauses instead of curing it for you? Hope it was a good bargain.
Aison2007-03-01 16:08:12
It pauses to cure it. As already something you should know, aeon relapses with every new command you put in until it wears off.
Unless that was meant to be a smart-aleck reply? I have no sense of humour. Please, keep on topic, for the benefit of everyone else.

I think the point was more that it should not actually 'pause,' in the sense that it ignores incomming afflictions and such. It should still track all of your afflictions, and some things should still be cured before aeon (as Zarquan mentioned before). Your system should prioritize those things and cure what's necessary, then cure aeon when possible. It should have timers to make sure aeon gets cured, and there are a lot of afflictions that should be ignored until after aeon is cured, but it should not 'pause' completely.

It was not a smart-aleck reply exactly. Curing the highest priority affliction alone doesn't qualify as pausing to me. I was just wondering if any system actually pauses completely (curing or tracking) when handling aeon. Thanks for the clarification.

@ Aison best way to deal with that is to have a macro (i use F9) to double, or even triple smoke coltsfoot. This fixes the anorexia which will let your system handle the stupidity (if you use the system I think you do, which is sounds like)
Malarious2007-03-24 06:28:42
First priority should generally be crucified. Nough said.
Ashteru2007-03-24 16:51:12
Anorexia seems like a higher priority.
Malarious2007-03-27 13:07:00
No Anorexia can come up second (although if you have anorexia asthma should come first)... crucify however stops almost -all- curing.. you cant eat drink smoke or apply while cruficied.. if it had a harder cure than writhe it would be used more.
