Bound Credits (Leveling)

I've been past 65 a few times on two characters, and it always bugs me: Why do you not get bound credits at level 65? There's no apparent reason or explanation why that's the only multiple of 5 through 10-70 that doesn't give any credits as a reward. I don't suppose anyone has an idea as to why?

At obtaining certain levels for the first time, you will also gain a number of
Bound Credits - either 5 or 10, depending on the level, as below:

Level Bound Credits
----- -------------
10, 15, 20, 25 5
30, 35, 40, 45, ---->50, 55, 60, 70 <---- 10

I think it's the Administration's way of weaning you off of the bound credits. Instead of just losing them all at once, you work your way off of them.

That, and it was written that way a long time ago in Achaea, and nobody has ever wanted to change it. So far as I know, it's the same in all of IRE's games.

Aetolia for the longest time just gave you a flat 10 credits per level, and didn't have a neocredit system at all. I think that changed when we all converted to bound credits. I always liked Aetolia's system better, although I never did the math to see if it ended up being less credits around level 80, which I suspect it was.
Daganev2007-03-05 17:40:03
Because once you hit level 60, you only get the credits once every 10 levels. Then at level 80, since you lose the need for sleep and food, you don't get any.

I think you mean 10 lessons, not 10 credits.

This way they add up to 100 bound credits and maybe they thought getting the last ones at 65 was too easy?
Unknown2007-03-05 17:58:30
Yeah, I think it's because they nicely add up to 100... (plus 100*5 lessons from leveling).
Daganev2007-03-05 18:02:55
way too few lessons in my opinion.

getting to level 100 should get you a minimum of 1800 lessons total.

Considering the gold you can make by bashing to 100 I'd say you can gain more than that.

I am not including gold you gain to buy market credits. Or what if you bash astral spawned mobs only, or influence without ever using begging? I wouldn't count gold as a factor to this discussion.

Gold can be used to buy credits, and if that's your goal then it should be a factor in the discussion. Likewise, I doubt you'll be able to kill many astral mobs without investing gold (vials etc), same for begging. You need a certain amount to bash but you can gain a lot lot more to buy credits with.

With the current credit prices it should be easy to make at least 5cr a day with just 2 hours (or less) bashing if you do something right. By the time you reach demigod that way you'll have several trans skills.

It's far from impossible to gain a lot more if you just invest a little time into it. If you never invest anything into this game, neither time or money, you'll have it hard to get anywhere skillwise - and as a matter of fact, I think this applies to most games actually.

Isn't 65 also a boosting point for Critical hits?
Unknown2007-03-06 22:40:51
i think that's a little lower. i've just hit 64 and have started noticing a lot more critical hits

No, gold really is not a factor.

If gold was a factor than you should not get any lessons or neocredits or anything from leveling.

gold gets you the 5+ trans skills you need. I am only talking about getting 1.

I'm noticing more crits now at 74 than at 65...way more.
Forren2007-03-07 04:22:26
Crits get really nice after 80. 79 is the worst level ever, for the record.

Agree and agree.

I also think that not enough lessons are rewarded at the lower levels. It is frusterating for people like me who don't have out of game resources to invest, even though I would like to. Of course I can spend a lot of time getting gold from credits in game, but I can usually only sit down for an hour or so a day, and the credits are so expensive, and I'm still bashing at such a low level, that hardly any fruition comes of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not about having everything handed to me on a silver platter, I just think it'd be nice to boost up a little bit the amount of lessons we can get, so that I can trans at least 2 skills without being able to buy credits.

Also at the higher levels it gets really annoying for me. In Achaea, my sentinel is level 56, and that's pretty much as high as I have gotten with any achaean character, because at that point, it becomes very discouraging unless you buy credits. My sent is stuck with wolverine as his highest hunting form, and won't get jaguar or wyvern for quite some time because of the weakness of wolverine. This may just be a grip with that class, but that's they way it has been for me.

It must be great to have surpassed the low levels, and actually be considered strong. Hopefully someday I'll get there, but I'm not very confident...

Trans two skills without getting credits? Ha, right now you can't even trans one if you dump all of them into a single skill from your first level onward. That won't be happening, sorry to say (I'd like the extra lessons too)

edit: typo
Unknown2007-03-08 03:20:31
Yeah, I didn't know any of the math off the top of my head, but that's exactly what I mean.
