Depends what you're looking for. Defensive/survival capability, reliable offense, ability to mow down lesser fighters, being able to fight more than one person, or what?

Thought there was a thread like this already, but here ya go:

Warriors are monsters at low levels in PvP at high levels they aren't as scary.

Mages aren't too great at low levels but at high levels, they surpass most archetypes.

For bashing go mage I would say, since they hit hard with blast against NPC's and never miss.

For cool RP I would go SD or BT (if RP only) or Celestine for cool PvP and RP, depending on what ya are leaning towards. I like the Supernal interaction with the Celestines, a little more than Nihilists.

Anyways thats my useless 2 cents smile.gif

All the classes except bards are quite good for PvP. There's no particular best class, though some classes are better in certain situations.

pritty much the most offensive class/race posible. i just want to know really, maybe no go it but to know what would be it. being able to fight more then one person would be handy.

and what that class might need skillwise. tritranse? i probly have a couple hundred credits to work with, maybe 1000 around. just want to know my main options. im not much of a basher, but will bash easily to the semi higher levels. but what really gets me it fighting, i love it. so i mide as well go 100% for it.

I think the Shadowdancers/Moondancers are for you.
Vaerhon2007-04-05 06:43:42
Most offensive class/race possible?

You're not going to see many outdamage a geomancer, though Forren (an Imperial Merian Aquamancer Avatar) is the proverbial exception to that rule.

You're not going to see many out-afflict a well handled guardian or Wicca. Aslaran tarot guardians and mugwump hexen wicca are well regarded.

If you want to face multiple people at once, go mage or druid. With the right tactics, any class can do something useful for group combat, but demesnes were MADE for group combat.

Warriors, much as I love them and effective as they can be, not going to qualify as the most offensive archetype.

Bards are more of a support role, so not for you.

Finally, if you were looking for the most fun fighting class, but not necessarily the most lethal, with fun defined from my perspective, I recommend an earlier thread of mine. The summary - warriors, nihilists, and shadowdancers, with celestines and moondancers next.

Well, If i where to say exatly my style of fighting it would have to be Occultists from achaea, I very must enjoyed the jester class in achaea as well. Im more of speed/affliction style fighter.

Then I'd say that Nihilists/Celestines/Shadowdancers/Moondancers are for you.

The latter two if you prefer Occie-esque armies of ents.. and the former if you like speedy afflicting.

I just dont really understand the difference from moondanceres and shadowdancers. they seem to have the same basic skills and skill choises...Natue/Wicca,Totems, and i would pick Hexes if them. but i dont really understand how hexes can be used in combat, do people only get affected when from some when they see them first entering the room. I just dont know. And Wicca seems for of a skill of entites.

they look really cool, but because i dont really understand what the skills are, im kind of at a loss about them.

hexes confusing. Wicca, how is it used?
p.s. best offensive class for them i would guess would be mudwemp or however you call it.
Diamondais2007-04-06 03:36:23
The difference between a Shadowdancer and a Moondancer is one learns Moon, the other Night and their RP is completely different. Hexes is the best skill a Wiccan can take for Combat. They will go off if an enemy enters the room, and you're nearby (clarify on this. Can't remember the full details of it) but they can also be pushed at a target. The ents come from Wicca, order them to attack your enemy and go. Your other main offensives will come from Night/Moon/high Wicca.

And a good combination for Wicca is Mugwump, their speed is just good.
Furien2007-04-06 03:39:57
The skills between Moon and Night differ- Moon users can actively aeon, whereas Night users can put a permanent aeon on everyone who stands in the room- including themselves.

The Wicca 'Avatar Fae' are different, too. The Moondancers get maidens, mothers, and crones from their Avatars, and they only use mothers (defensive, heal health of whoever they follow) and crones (gives afflictions) in combat. Shadowdancers get redcaps, barghests and slaughs from their Avatars. Recaps bleed, barghests cause paralysis to all undeaf enemies in the room, and slaugh is generally the same as the crone.

While Shadowdancer fae are more powerful, they can't actively aeon like Moondancers without hitting themself, hence the tradeoff.
Vix2007-04-06 03:42:28
Don't take the occie references too seriously. Wiccan fae are a whole lot less useful in combat than those armies occultists led about. Wiccans don't have the luxury of sitting back and letting the ents handle everything. tongue.gif
Furien2007-04-06 03:50:23
Yeah, and if you still insist you're an Occultist...

You're a really, really fruity Occultist if you're killing people with armies of faeries.
Unknown2007-04-06 03:53:54
If you want to Achaeaize things a bit, try thinking of Hexes as Shaman curses, you need to prep them in the room, then fling them one or two at a time, some of what you hit the enemy with will be masked as well once you get high Hexes.
Krellan2007-04-06 05:43:21
for all 4 of those guilds you should trans all three guildskills. also you'll want to trans planar. saves tons of experience loss. Personally I think shadowdancers are better offensively. and just as good defensively. They just don't get mother to passively heal. I love choke. and I"m a moondancer. Shadowdancer fae are even better in choke. hexes can be drawn up to 6 at a time. they can be pushed into an adjacent room and the trans skill lets you take hexes with you wherever you go. you can throw two at a time masked or one at a time or one at a time masked.

mag and Celest fight the most. Though often one side overpowers the other just because of who's around. in that case you'd go celestian/nihilist and I'd go Nihilist just cause I like being the underdog. cause then you're guaranteed a fight if you want it or not. If you're the OP'ed team then the defenders could just not come which happens on occasion.
