There are probably some old threads about this somewhere, but I'm just too lazy to necro them. I'm asking about an autovoters, if there is an IRE policy against them, if its ok, just the whole subject. I think Whyte made one for Imperian using mudbot but I'm not quite sure. Has anyone made one?

A simple script that would open up the correct link through a web browser when the VOTE NOW prompt shows up in game doesn't sound to hard to make. Er, this is coming from someone who doesn't know alot about scripting though. Would it be hard to make? I think if something simple like this was added to say Ciaran's/Murphy's system or Ethelon's system alot more people would vote. Or just a standalone plugin that anyone could use.

I have modified the Voter module for IMTS to vote for Lusternia instead. I posted it in Project L a few days ago but here it is again.

To use it you'll need IMTS (MudBot) and once connected, simply do `load voter.dll to load it and then vote to vote.

Does that work, CroX? I know there was some confusionlately that that was not actually voting, despite the feeling that it was.

I'm pretty sure you still have to click on the Vote For This Site button, or it doesn't do anything. It tricks Lusternia into thinking you've voted, but it hasn't done anything useful.

I'm pretty sure, yes. It uses IRE's voting redirection, which probably is what triggers Lusternia's message, but it also follows the links from there and even "clicks" that button, as can be seen from the log below. Try it out for yourself.

Thank you very much for voting! See HELP VOTING to read about how that helps
Lusternia as a whole.

It said it works, which is what they discovered, but it wasn't actually adding votes. That's what Jeremy told the two games he's running. That's just an echo, it thinks it's working, but apparently it really wasn't.

I checked before voting and then again just afterwards and one vote had been registered during that period of 2-3 seconds. I'm prone to believing it was mine.

Why go to all this trouble to create a auto-voter, when manually voting isn't too hard?

That attitude doesn't deserve a proper reply.
