I was thinking of giving my dracnari a mechanical forearm. After all, in Nosfydra, the psionic abominations there have mechanical legs, don't they?
So I figure, if they have mechanical legs, and animate them through psionics, why can't my little old telekinetic dracnari here have a mechanical arm?
Or would that be way too OOC of sorts?

Not really. Just come up with an IC justification, maybe a background story.

Hmm.
I've also been thinking about reincarnating - what if I said that I reincarnated, but something seriously bollocksed up somewhere and I happened to (irreversibly) lose an arm in the process?
Unknown2007-04-07 17:45:52
Er.... I guess. But dont be vague about it. Come up with something good!
And don't just have no arm one moment and a mechanical arm the next. Find an IC doctor or something, or a engineer, that might be able to construct you one. If your really feeling courageous you could ask one of the cities NPC scientists, like Tunika.
Make a story out of it.

I would probably need a forger to create it, a healer to attach it, and an enchanter to power it...

If you are, additionally, looking for a Celestian to amputate it to get the ball rolling, let me know.

I doubt you'd get away with "no arm" for very long. Let's pretend you "have no left arm". Bill the Pureblade (or Axelord) comes along and hacks off your said arm, because it still exists, according to the rest of the game.
Novinha: "How can you have just removed my left arm? I never had one!"
Bill: *picks up arm* "Hey, want your arm back?" *throws arm at Novinha*
Novinha: *sob*
You don't want that happening, right?
EDIT: So yeah, you'd have to figure out some way to have a permanently dismembered arm, if you were going the "no arm" route. As for the robotic arm...who's to say that it wouldn't turn -you- into an abomination? >.>

Roleplay > mechanics
I did, however, LOL at that story.

@Kromsh
And hey, she'll HAVE an arm. It just won't be an arm of flesh. No, her arm will be of unfeeling metal, wrenched into motion through unflinching will alone, a will born of countless months of suffering in the gears of the Engine, torturing herself to create something new and greater than before! It will be an arm animated by rage, malice, and a consuming hunger to share the enlightenment of her suffering!
Bill can still hack it off, though.

I was referring to her not having an arm at any point other than it being removed by a warrior. And let's not forget the broken arm bones, either.
Ashteru2007-04-07 18:36:22
Can't get the arm from me then. What I forge doesn't break.
I was told I should edit this post so above edit isn't so obvious. BUT NO, I WILL NOT SUPPORT EVIL EDITERS LIKE KROMSH. SUFFER, B-WORD!

We really need a bloody admin's opinion.
You'd probably need a custom message explaining that no, you did not just shatter her bones, your weapon just bounced off her chrome-plated FakeArm 9000.

Just for reference, he had the second part of the post above mine in his post above my previous one.
And his Ava is a fake Tae'dae, too! You faker.

Someone's a little high-strung today.
I think you could pull it off, but I don't know if I'd make it strictly metallic for mechanical reasons. With algontherines, animated corpses, and the possibilities of telekinesis, you can probably get something that'd fit in with the mechanics better without people like Cap'n Crunch up above having a stroke.

Nah, it'll break like regular.

Ash has been smoking the reefer. Ignore him.
Psh, I'm always this angry. It's just more obvious when people try to pretend that Roleplay wasn't crushed to death by Mechanics.

It's being made by a Celestine. You think that'd be a bit grotesque for a follower of the Light.
