There is almost NO quest at all that is avaliable for all levels that will give you as much experience as you do leading supplicants in Celest.

It should be. It's extremely hard to find the quest not already done. Those of you higher leveled players horde it when it should be more for the lower leveled ones. I have a level 20 noob and she has only been able to do the quest once. Every single time she's been there, some older player is leaving with all the sand. It's so frustrating. I've just went back to ratting, when I do play this game and don't leave out of sheer frustration, since there's nothing much a person my level -can- do. /rant

You forget, Nihilists and Celestines -must- do the Supplicant and Spectres quests to get their Symbol. There will be times that the older characters, or the stronger ones, use these quests more so than any other.
Razenth2007-04-20 18:23:12
Most of the Celestines have symbols. At the moment, us big Celestines don't need any sand, and I don't know of anyone who just got symbol and isn't a lowbie. So honestly, all those people who are above level 30 or 40 shouldn't be doing it.

Faethyr got most of the way to level 50 on supplicants alone. It was only already done about half the times I went there. And every time I got sand, I asked on CT if any Celestines needed any, and nobody ever did. If other people are taking the sands, are you sure they're not other lowbies who also need to do the quest?

That is all I have to say about supplicants.

I think Celest needs a good quest like supplicants. You guys can't kill anything worthwhile until astral.

Why Celest?

Ignoring the "if you're not going to say anything nice, don't say it at all" rule for a second or two, to comment: Why did anyone reply to this thread in all seriousness? Maybe I've had too much sugar and need to take a nap...

I had to get my symbol over again. Talkan changed his from Elohora to Raziela, and now has to do Elohora again because of recent envoy changes. Some people change their symbols around and need to do the quest. Nothing wrong with that.
I've done it twice in the last day because 1) I was running out of karma, 2) I have a debt to pay to the city, and 3) no newbies were currently around who were in the city (they were in Newtons). If a lowbie saw me carrying away with the sand, I'd give it to them. They just need to be polite and ask.

Do your supplicants quest and stay outta mags spectre quest then

Err, I posted it in Survival Guide, it must have been moved.
Razenth2007-04-21 05:17:57
Then why the heck did it get moved? This has nothing to do with combat.

I've been in games where gold doesn't drop from critters if they are 10 level's below you, and if they are 20 level's below you they don't give you any experience either, as a way to keep high level players from camping in the lower areas. (Ha, could you imagine if there was no xp loss/gain from killing players lvl 80 and below if you were a demigod? maybe we'd have less griefers) Anywho, I don't think Lusti has enough hunting areas to suddenly disallow hunting in the lower ones (I arguably don't hunt in hard areas when I do so a change like that would hurt me immensely.) I also think the supplicants quest is a very bad example for pushing a change like that anyway, it's easy to do (go here, go there, no muss no fuss), has a good gain, and people have a lot of differing reasons to do it. Other quests, and hunting areas are fall less camped. Heck you've got the sewers, swimming with almost 100 monsters that can be killed easily, one zone away, and collectively give a decent amount for anyone when you take into account that there is little to no risk involved as long as you are at least inept in high/low magic. I forget where I was going with this initially; I guess I support the status quo.
Ildaudid2007-04-21 07:29:07
Yea I used to play a great lp mud where you couldn't PK anyone 20 levels lower than you, and each area had a min/max level setup. Also if you went someplace that didn't have that set up, if you were much higher than the mobs you were killing, you would get nothing for exp too. The only times you were there were for quests to get quest pts and purchase special quest items.

Give us their names IC and come watch us execute them. I know when I wasn't enemied to Celest, if I even walked into the city I was told if I did not leave immediately I would be enemied. So hard to really think that there are Mags roaming around Celest doing the supplicants quest.
