The Etherwilde got raided last week, and I chipped in and tried to help. Went down too quick to even know what was going on.
So... what happened? Aside from it being my first PVP fight, and me not recognizing afflictions, and not having any of the herbs I ought to, and panicking OOCly...
Actually, I think I just answered my own question.

Well sod.
It's no wonder that Serenwilde gets so repeatedly owned by ONE Glomdoring member.
That was a dreadful effort. No working together, little leadership.
Edit: That's not particularly directed at you Aramel.

First of all, you were fighting in Choke (permanent uncurable aeon for everyone in the room), which is more or less instant death to any non-major combatant. Not a good place to practice pvp fighting. What happened the first time when you died was that the slaugh (a shadowdancer fae that causes random afflictions) hit you with rigormortis (random limbs are broken until cured) and you never cured it. Rigormortis broke all of your limbs, and you couldn't move or do anything. After Shamarah killed a few people, he hit you a few times with his basic damage attack, which killed you.
The second time, you were also in Choke, and he set his fae on you. The pixie put you to sleep, and the sylph shoved you out of the trees, which made you fall and break your limbs. Before you could recover, he seized you back into the trees, and the sylph immediately shoved you out, which made you fall and break your limbs. You bled to death from the bleeding damage of the redcap, after being nearly killed by the one or two direct attacks he made.
Aiakon, it's very hard to coordinate and give orders when you are fighting in choke, since talking would require you to stop curing and attacking. It's one of the many things that make it far stronger than it seems.

The briefing could have been given before the engagement. Like Aramel, vine, Accalia, lash, Ildis keep prone as long as you can and stuff. Also whatever happened to all the levitation enchantments?

It's hard to coordinate in combat anyway because of combat spam. You do it before you go in.

So that is how I saw all those people die...
With a slow, jerking dance, Aesyra points at Shamarah and lowers her arms, and
Shamarah's movements slow to a crawl.
Isnt that a bit.. pointless? Also watch that mana Aesyra!
In all honesty.. people need to be informed early.. shamarah should have been sleep whored (to stop tumble if you got a chance and if someone stayed on it), vined, lashed (or damaged!), and basically been forced to let ailments stack on him in choke.
You did very well Sham.. shoulda ordered entourage on single targets though methinks.. it was ok this one.. but next time having them on different targets can end poorly.
Hmm Round two.. Ildis and Accalia were doing nicely. And yes I am commenting as I read.. Ok no one was using levitation enchants.. and when you know he is seizing and pushing...you should! Though you did much better this round. Also.. rigormortis was tearing you apart.
(Serenwilde): Ildis says, "Either everyone get levitation enchants."
Perfect...
Aesyra whip them into raiding and defensive shape!

Shorlen covered it, you needed to eat marjoram. The Slaught re-afflicts every 12 seconds with a few afflictions, one of them being (taken from your log)
You are:
turning stiff like a corpse.
Alternatively:
I noticed you had bromide vials and were succoring yourself (so you're a healer I'm a Moonie healer myself ) If you have up to (or get up to with lessons later) Master 50% you gain access to CURE ME MUSCLES which is a quicker way to focus body, and also is a cure to that affliction (one which drains your mana instead of consuming marjoram).
On a side note, I feel for you. Healers get nullified ridiculously in choke (and sap and aeon to a lesser degree), because they can't spam-heal themselves as they can in any other situation if they get mass-afflicted, they also can't stack Cure me's and herbs simultaneously either. It's a lose-lose situation.
Edit:Your only feasible option is bedevil (which I don't even have, so I don't expect you to have it either). It's mana cost might be to dangerous anyway, and I guess "get this skill you don't have" isn't good advise anyway. :\\

Actually bedevil might be insanely good in choke, if you can do it paralysed and with broken bones.

A shame I wasn't here. Generally, as a Moondancer, you have the best odds of survival against a Shadowdancer in Choke compared to most other classes. Due to the fact that it is passive afflicting vs. passive afflicting. I've managed to survive fairly decently in Choke on Nexus. Granted, I have probably died more times in it than I've won, but I've managed to survive and damage the Shadowdancer far longer than some others, so I can give a few recommendations on what to do:
1.) Order your Fae hostile before hand, I don't know if you did or not. Just enemy Shamarah and 'Order Entourage kill Shamarah'. That'll save the trouble of having the order them while aeoned.
2.) Earwort! You didn't have Truehearing up, and if you have low Discipline.. That Barghest is going to make quick work of you.
3.) Make an alias called 'Chokeprep', which causes you to outrift at least 5 to 10 of each herb. Yes, you may die and lose them, but most people are more than willing to return them. Shamarah has been nice about that before from what I've seen.
4.) As a Furrikin, I have roll and I use it whenever I get hit with Rigormortis. It's a dangerous affliction if you don't cure it. Tumble is definitely worth the investment if you ever get it. Know when to run, especially when you're getting afflicted to hell by hexes and otherwise.
5.) This goes for all of Seren.. BECOME PARANOID SCENTERS. You should scent regularly if you're lounging about in Etherwilde, especially if Sham is on Ethereal.. 85% of the time he is on Ethereal, he's planning to raid.. Especially if he enters Faethorn. If you see him, alert immediately, take who you can and flow. You can at LEAST stop him from dropping Choke and then everyone else can come up and flow over to shoo him out. It's worked moderately well before. If you let Sham get Choke, Brumetower, and all other nice little gidgets.. He's going to have built himself a fortress in Etherwilde thus making it harder to remove him.
6.) I'm not sure what tertiary you are. If you're Hexes and using Nexus, contact me IG and I can give you good pointers for effectively hexing. If a Healer and Astrologer, I'm probably not the best person to ask about that. But stripping his insomnia through healing or getting other afflictions through Astrology could work.
7.) If your organization is delayed and he's set himself up, call out duties. Have one person on vine duty, others on damage, and anyone who has capable affliction abilities (Runes, Hexes, Ecology) should focus that on them. It'll work.
Choke is hard to survive and it's extremely annoying, and the fact that it can make most systems have a heart attack is discouraging. BUT! It's manageable to survive.. Especially if you have the zerg rush on your side. Also, since you're a Moondancer, I'd highly recommend looking IG to join the Moondancer Hexen clan. The Hexen is a clan primarily focused so you can properly defend yourself or expand offensively. We're currently working on Anti-Class scrolls but a recent addition of fighting Shadowdancers was added. So look into it and good luck!

"other nice little gidgets"? I wish shadowed rooms had other nice little gidgets. Choke and brumetower is pretty much it, (except bonds which isn't worth using). I want fun utility room effects. :(

Drink? That seems nice too...

Drink's a def, not a room effect.

Only works in rooms with released shadows, though.

Briefing people before is somewhat hard for several factors. One, the person Shamarah puts his fae on is always always going down and won't be able to attack. You just can't keep up with hostile fae in choke and try to attack. If you have the fae on you and no way to get rid of them quickly, tumble out. That's the best you can do. Fighting in choke with fae on you is a death sentence more often than not.
Second, succumb mana drain is insane, especially with banshee and in choke. It gets me from full to yellow in mere seconds. Vapors + succumb makes 90% of the player population toadcurse-able already. Just seriously try fighting a decent SD before saying that succumb is balanced. Even Forren had to admit its drain is insane after sparring Shamarah.

I'd really wish everyone would stop saying that offensively curing insomnia/deafness/blindness were feasible tactics; in my view they're design flaws. :\\And no, Ash, if you are paralyzed you can't bedevil, you also can't bedevil if you have any broken arms, most of the useful afflictions that would be nice to transfer with bedevil STOP bedevil.
