Saw that illithoid style guide thread (flamefest), and it got me thinking...

Out of curiosity, is there a reference anywhere, perhaps some old topic on this forum or an obscure place on the site, where similar information for other races is available? That is, more details for appearances than HELP goes into. The help files aren't a bad started point, and the illustrations on the site help a little too, but it'd be interesting to see what other characteristics a race might have that could be described...particularly since some areas can be a little vague.

The only official sources I know about are NPCs of the race in-game. I think every playable race has at least one area with such NPCs.

Well that and plain 'ol common sense. What are you looking for specifically?

Well, not looking for any specific detail in particular, really. Just wondering if there was a more definitive source around than the help system, much like the illithoid one but for other races...partly out of curiosity (As mentioned, sometimes the official source is a bit too vague) and partly because it never hurts to look for more ideas. NPCs would probably be good (though those can also be rather vague at times), but require a certain level of familiarity with the world and, in some cases, the means to get to that area. Common sense/logic also works, but eh, it's a bit more subjective and sometimes a thought that occurs to one person might not occur to another.

It's actually easier to say when a description is unlikely or unacceptable than listing all the things which *are* acceptable. The illithoid style guild thread for example is just clarification on stuff and general guidelines on racial features. Obviously totally unheard of appendages popping up in the wrong race is unacceptable, but there's usually a very wide range of variation otherwise.
