This is something that I thought was supposed to happen but now I'm not sure.
What I mean is, if I trans magic, does it affect my skills in lowmagic and/or moon?
If so does this apply to all skill pools?

I thought it was meant to but I dunno if it does.

It seems to in the case of skills like tracking, which compare skill ranks. A trans tracker with novice environment can not disarm a trap set by a trans tracker with trans environment.

It doesn't give you more skills, no. But it does count.
In lots of places, not always obvious, your number of lessons invested in a skillset is used numerically to determine things. Like how long your crafted goods last, whether you can disable someone else's traps, how much damage you do, etc. Whenever this number is calculated, it's equal to the lessons in the primary skill plus 1/4 of the lessons in the parent skill.

Interesting. Where'd you get that figure?

Umm, I think Roark posted that ages ago.

As far as I know, a good example of this is Trans Geomancy & Planar. If you Trans both, then your demesne effects will last longer than if you just Trans Geomancy. Or so I heard way back when I was an Aqua...

There are many such cases where a parent skill affects other skills, though some may not realize which skill is the parent. (Hint: a 'base' skill and its specialization are really the same skill.)
