I don't know whether to be amused or dismayed at knowing that the US military wants to use a well-known fossil site as a bombing range. Ugh.

I do hate when the Army plays these games, but at this point it is to early to panic. About every four or five years, the Army, or Air Force try this stuff, and most of the time they get shut down.

Congress is opposed to the idea, so the Army really wont get the chance to acquire it.

There is also a national historic protections act which makes 'blowing' this stuff illegal, then was signed in the eighties. So, this is just sending up a red flag because you heard a big wave might be coming. It aint going to happen.
