Recently changed from jewelry to tailoring, what was the new trans jewelry skill replaced with?
Oh, can someone explain to me WHY transfix had to go away?

From what I've heard the new skill is s like an upgraded version of the Seeing Stone. I believe transfix was removed because you can transfix with glamours, aand that made it overpowered? I never knew it was such a deadly ability :S

Yeah. The admin said they wanted transfix replaced (like dazzle) to the envoys, though we didn't know why. Guess we found out!

Well I know what the admins said. I wanted to know the reasoning behind the mechanics of it. Any more specifics on this "seeing stone" ?

Well, the Glamours move to transfix strips blindness like any other transfixing move.
Imagine fighting Celestines if they still had dazzle, and all they needed was a Gifted-level Glamourist (or more Celestines, I guess) to transfix you to hell?

I don't think it was transfix itself that was a problem, it was the blindness stripping. If a Celestine and a glamourist went in to fight together, the Celestine could always transfix/strip blindness, immediately followed by insanely painful glamour abilities, and you could do nothing about it. Blindness/sixthsense is the main defense against glamours, and they didn't want everyone being able to strip it so easily.
EDIT:
And my understanding of the new trans jewelry skill is that it gives you a stone that allows you to see everyone in the local area (but I believe does not go through shroud) when you look into it. You can also use it to scry anyone on the same plane. That's all second-hand, though, I haven't actually read the skill description.
