My suggestions- Get a better axe, apply more poisons in the beginning or remember to apply them later. You had 2 poisons on the axe and hit alot more than 2 times. Also try branching out in poison use rather than just calcise.

Axelord is *all* about hindering and preventing movement. You should be going for the legs, for two reasons:
1) knockdown + mantakaya is a very good combination on people that don't have trans discipline. Takes roughly 5 seconds for them to stand from (except bards).
2) if you can get an amputate leg while they are down, that'll leave them on the ground for such a large window that you can hammer hack down, though personally I'd hammer it a few times with jabs, and then go for a sweep behead. Alternatively, you can go for an execution. It requires more finesse, but it's probably more satisfying to kill with (I wouldn't know: kneecap is the highest I've got).

Now, don't just go straight for the legs. I generally will do knockdown/mantakaya, and then a jab to the head (usually getting me a ringingear, and sometimes a shatterjaw), followed by a sweep+senso. That's a guaranted slitlock (if senso hits).

Your first hit was an attempted chest strike. The only affliction I can think of, that you were going for, is snaprib. While it would be useful against aslarans (and any weapon-wielder), you really need to get him stacked with afflictions before you can do that. Meaning, you have to mix poisons with low-level wounding effects.

Knockdown+mantakaya is a power basic combo.
Knockdown+anything else is weak, unless you're using charybdon. Then it's decent. The reason being that they fall behind in curing for a second, but they're still able to stand and cure before you can strike again. With charybdon, they waste a second figuring out what they have.
Ringingear + dulak is good, if you're lucky and they don't focus stupidity away quickly, or not at all.

If you've got their arms worked up, breakarm + dendroxin can be useful, especially against two-handers. They need both arms to swing, and they have to fix the breakarm wound and the withered other arm before they can do anything. For one-handers, it cuts their affliction/wounding rate by half, which is a very nice time for you to catch up on your wounds for a moment. It's also useful for anyone else, as if you get the breakarm on the staff arm (for mages) they can't use the staff at all, and if you have dendroxin on the other arm, you can hammer away without fear of parry.

Also, in general, for Axelords you amass the wounds with jabs, and then get the afflictions with sweep. I wouldn't worry about swinging, unless you're out of power. But, it shouldn't matter in the scenario above, because you'll have have plenty of time to get the mage within behead range with jabs.

Finally, use either concentrated or lightning combatstyles. Concentrated for ensuring you get the proper wounds, and lightning for quickly hammering them with jabs.

Axelord requires the most finesse to use effectively.

Oh and I'd recommend using a love potion against trackers if you notice traps. Kind of like demesne users.

No, no you cant sweep behead or assault behead. Theomar musta made a typo, well that or if you can, it is bugged.


Vorld, set a trigger if you can on @target lays a trap to the (%w). make it so you know what directions they are laying traps, or something to that effect. I noticed he laid his traps, tackled you out of the room and then led you back into a trapped room. Don't fall for that if possible. Also disfigure didn't seem to work well, sip love instead, when you are his ally the traps won't hit you.

Yeah, sorry, I had a brain fart at that time. I just meant you hammer the head with jabs until they are critical, and then sweep a few times to get their head *really* messed up so that if you're using a behead maneuver only, you'll pretty much behead if you hit them.

Edit: Yeah, and I forgot to mention that you shouldn't be using any necromancy skill in the beginning save for omen. The disfigure you used was a waste of a time you should've spent knockdowning.

That would've been useful if you had gotten a slitlock on him, or had stacked a lot of other afflictions with the same cure balance.

Also, if you get the timing right, ectoplasm should be used either before or after a slitlock. Because slickness/ectoplasm are cured the exact same way (and I think ectoplasm is cured first, or it usually is for me at least), you can get them wasting cleanse balance on ectoplasm.

As I said, Axelord is the toughest of the knighthood specs to get down pat, but I think it's the most fun (it's so fun because all the crushing wounds, shatterjaw as one example, need an extra cure to fully cure, opposed to BCs. You can stack shatterjaw and slitthroat together so that they have to cure the extra shattering from shatterjaw before the slit. Well, I'm almost certain about that).

Basically, you have to know the synergies of the wounds:

Knockdown can be used before any wound for a very good effect, especially throat hits or going for amputateleg.
And, if you can stack haemophilia (yay new poisons), laceratearm/leg does wonders for bleeding (~600 a pop with all four stuck).

ah I should drank love potion. didn't think of it. yeah I should of done that disfigure differently. The next fight I had went better than this one. Ralek kept on shrugging my venoms he's trans resilience. what am I supposed to do against that?
