Alright, Necromancy raisedead is pretty flat useless. But what about a replacement? They can't attack, look exactly the same except with the addition of:
Because it is so cute, you are rather reluctant to harm this baby rat. Its fur
has just begun to grow and it is capable of making only the most pathetic of
squeaks. Cavernous sockets contain dead black eyes, and small patches of
rotting skin dot this creature.
An undead baby rat timidly moves in the shadows here.
You could have up to five at any one time. They couldn't attack, or do anything at all, except be ordered to stay or follow their creator. Easy to kill, and entirely useless except for giggles. Say, 250 mana per raise, with the odd room emote with a bit of skin falling off.

This idea is absolutely hilarious.
Noola2007-06-13 13:48:23
That's what I thought RaiseDead did. I thought you got to have zombie critters as well as zombie people that you could have shamble around after you.
Unknown2007-06-13 13:54:43
You can only raise people, and they become an undead creature with the same description, what type they become and what afflictions they do is based on that person's level.
Vaerhon2007-06-13 15:56:38
You say it's useless, even in its upgraded form, but have you actually tried raising an undead army of hundreds? "They thought that you were mad to try. Mad! Well... you'll show them. You'll show them all!"
Come on - you have a city full of people who will submit themselves for execution on command, another city full of people whom you'd love to kill and raise, and two communes full of potential collateral damage. And you have a perfect source of experimental victims in the rogues, victims who lack the kind of organized support that comes with a nexus.
If life gives you zombies, make zombie armies.
Please?

The next time someone from Magnagora kills Noola, PLEASE RaiseDead her! That would be soooooo cool!
Unknown2007-06-13 16:32:25
Thoros would be happy to oblige. If memory serves the La'Saet manse has several undead "servants" in it.

But then I'd wanna SEE the undead Noola! And I couldn't if it was stuck in a manse!

Last sentence aside, is that the actual description of a baby rat? Played IRE games for 5 years but I never hassled to probe them. If it is... bad admins! Power-emoting description!

I think this idea complements my idea for a RaisePirate ability.
Just imagine the battles we could have.

What is this crock about robots?
The Serenwilde needs RaiseCamel.

The camel would knockdown and trample everyone in the room on your enemy list every 2 seconds, as well as afflicting aeon through speed and sleeping through insomnia.
It would also provide you with a +10 bonus to charisma, since nothing is hotter than a dude on a camel.
It would force anyone you killed to pray for salvation, since it would eat their corpses, and if they took too long to do so it would eat their souls as well, forcing them to start new characters.
Finally, it would spit at the players of anyone you fought, since camels can spit further than reality.

No. It's too expensive in terms of power, as it scales depending on the level of the person. I'm related to a lot of the rogues, too. This allows you to create your own zombie entourage - or zombie choir, I guess, since you could orderthem to sing in the woods, by which I mean leave them there - but at least this way you're more likely to get some use out of it, and you can't go ratting and just leave 30 zombies running around. And yes, that's the actual description, and also, camels are nasty, spitting, hairy, smelly little bastards. They take a lot of pleasure in leaving saliva on me. YOU EVOLVED NOT TO DO THAT. STOP IT. Well, not little beasts, but still.

I hope you're immune to death, for it shall be swift, hairy, smelly, and indescribably nasty in the coming.

A vast courtyard before the La'Saet Estate.
The corrosiveness of the taint sickens the land. A broad, shadowed tapestry of the Basin is here, covering one wall. There are 3 grotesque ghasts here. Lying flat on the ground is a key-shaped sigil. There are 3 wights here. Gibbering to itself, a ghoul looks about itself here with a malevolent gleam in its eyes. Shield of Klaymech, Kanika Nemrossa, Tainted Dreamer is here. Apprentice of the Sands, Forfax La'Saet is here. He wields a twisted staff in his left hand. Archmage Athine La'Saet, Mistress of Cruelty is here. She wields a golden sunburst shield in her left hand. Begotten of Boulders, Hallen, Mister Phantasmic is here. He wields a twisted staff in his left hand and a batwing shaped shield in his right.
You see a single exit leading in.
Behold my undead army. It'll grow soon, as soon as I can find those willing to rise again as an undead.
An awesome Rp tool, however, combat wise, Raisedead is absolutely useless.

The terrible powers of undeath.......or the unimaginable ferocity of a camel.
There is no question.
Behold, the Doom Camel, and tremble before it's wrath.
