What if there was a place where you could fight some sort of mirror-you? The only difference between it and you is that you carry herbs and vials?

Certainly a nice way to try out your skills, along with gain experience...

Just an idea.
Noola2007-06-26 18:36:51
I don't think it'd be able to have all the abilities you have, just cause I think that is too complicated... and the reason Mobs don't have all the abilities we have and so on.

BUT, I'd LOVE it if you could go fight a mirror image of yourself! That would be sooooooo coooooool! laugh.gif
Unknown2007-06-26 19:18:40
Fine, maybe not /all/ of the skills...

... but maybe a few generalized skills? Or maybe the coders could make it so that the mob just copies what you do, minus herbs, elixers, potions, etc?

Or your mirror self can just do your main attack, like for a Moondancer, just swipe at you with the Athame dagger, or the Nature talisman, or something, you know? No herbs or vials.

Moondancer could Nature Curse for a lesser attack and Moonburst for a larger one.

Shadowdancers could Nature Curse for a lesser attack and... um... Nightkiss, is it?

Celestines could Cosmic Fire for a lesser attack and... I don't know their stronger attack.

Nihilists could Cosmic Fire for a lesser attack and... again, don't know their stronger attack.

Help fill me in, people!

Reminds me of the time in Achaea when the mirror landmark got smashed, and mirror-images of everyone were rampaging all over killing people. They even had artifacts. Scary. All the low-level people like me were trapped in their cities, cause they'd get annihilated by the high-level mirrors with artis if they left.

I didn't know that happened...

... well. This would be a place in Aetherspace. Your butt wouldn't be going their if you're a novice, unless you want to die. Maybe hide a quest in there, too. Hmn.

Celestines and Nihilists summon angels/demons, but other than that, Cosmic Fire is their main hunting attack.

Same for the Druid/Mage archtypes, exept we can have them use the Talisman/Sickle for the Druids and the non-staffed Blast for the Mages for the lesser attack, and the Cudgel and Staffed attacks for the stronger attack.

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up. happy.gif

And another person to clear that up for me. Thanks.

Anyone else have views on the Mirror Place in Aetherspace idea? Ways to expand it? A possible quest that could be there?
Unknown2007-06-26 20:19:37
Blast, Curse and Cosmicfire don't even come close to being in any way comparable to Staff, Cudgel/Burst/Nightkiss or Symbol. No way. They'd do a little bit of damage and then BAM, 10x that with the higher attack.

Also, what would be the point? Maybe I'm missing something basic, but I just don't see a reason nor need for this.

For fun! There doesn't need to be much more of a reason. This is a place for ideas. ALL ideas. Not only needed ones.

You don't think it'd be fun?
Unknown2007-06-26 22:44:32
I thought the concept would be a good idea. A Denzien might actually be more powerful since it's not affected by afflictions but could conceptually use many of your offensive attacks.

Not sure why it fits in Aetherspace though.

I'd love to see a zombie-style curse that killed you and turned your body into a zombie, while you were stuck as a soul, you wouldn't be able to pray for salvation until another being killed it.

That would rock! You'd have to watch your zombie self shamble around trying to kill your friends! How cool!

And then someone kills you with it in some neglected, inaccessible part of the world - or better yet, on an aetherbubble - and you have to wait several days to come back to life.

Yes. That'd be FUN, huh?

Pfft... Give it a time-limit then... after all, zombies are rotting corpses right? So, after a little bit, they rot completely and fall apart and your soul is freed. laugh.gif

10 minute time limit would sound about right. *sagenod*
