While it makes me somewhat sad, I'm returning to MUDs after a few years of a..break..from Achaea.
So, while I design a character, there were a few things I had some questions for that arose while I looked through the help files on the site and the like.
- With the conflict between the communities (Serenwilde/Glomdoring, etc) - is the conflict roleplayed out, or is it primarily another setting of a mask for just..PK?
- Manses -> There's bits about the commands and such for manipulating, and that you can buy the room-boxes in shops..but..how/where would you go about getting the manse to manipulate? Are they like the housing in Imperian - limited number and you have to work with the present supply, or more like Achaea's subdivisions (as in, there's much more available)?
- Trade skills: So, only cartel heads / trademasters can submit custom designs? Is the only way to have a privately owned design if the cartel head okay's it, or you have your own little one-person cartel?
- Is there a resource I could use/ way to find a bit more information on the conflicts within the realm - since (assuming from past mudding and rp experience) the key ones on the site aren't always the biggest ones played out? Especially concerning races?
And, that'll be the end of this session..I've forgotten at least half of what I wanted to ask.
Anywho, if anyone could help, it would be appreciated.

You buy manses themselves the same way you buy rooms for the manses. Space is unlimited, but it doesn't exist on a map like Achaea's subdivisions. The wilderness/subdivision map is used for aethership travel. Manses are portalled directly into.
The Glomdoring-Serenwilde conflict does have ongoing RP to it, but the PK aspect is more prominent and much easier to get involved in. (And Serenwilde kicked out Kalodan, who was probably the most fun to RP conflict with. )
Private designs can only be made by heads of cartels, yes. Not every tailor on the street can make you something custom, and trademasters are limited on the number of designs that can be submitted in a month. There is no minimum private cartel size, but they are extremely expensive.
Your best resource for how the RP is handled is right here. Look at old forum threads. Common Grounds and Idiots will give you the best results.

Conflict between organisations consists of propangda, actual physical combat and quests which are designed to specifically harm that organisations interests. By definition all of this conflict is roleplay, however, including the PKing.
Manses exist in unlimited amounts since they're seperate from the actual "world" and accessed through specific areas, much like Achaea's subdivisions.
While only TM's can submit designs, you'll usually find them open to suggestions for what exactly to submit. It's not nearly as closed-off as the Achaean system. And yes, it is possible to buy a cartel for yourself, solely for custom designs, although expensive.
And there is a resource to find out more about current conflicts: you're reading it. Good luck wading through it all.

Then manse wise - where would one find a shop for the manse-items (fulcrux orb et such)?
And thank you. It's rather refreshing having questions actually answered.

There's an IG shop on Avechna's peak. It's inside the same area as the aetherplex portal. The shop for Aetherships is there too

The animosity, from what I've seen, RI (Role immersion) wise is really held up in Serenwilde and in Glomdoring. Also in Celest. Never really spent too much time in Magnagora. If you want to enter Glomdoring, contact Shayle or Xavius or Xenthos. They're always IC and always insisting everyone else be as well. Good luck!

Heh. Good luck trying to find Xavius outside his manse, these days.

...Which is pointless, since you need to be on Prime for that.
Edit: Nevermind, I think I missed the joke.

It's all a big joke until the death threads start coming in.
Fain was my first target.
Who knows who's next?

Marina meant to say "Contact the guildmaster of the guild you want to join."
Don't contact me. For the sake of our imaginary gods, don't contact me.
