Need to contact a tailor

I’m trying to get a great robe made unfortunately the original design was rejected. So if anyone (tailor or not) could suggest how to fix it, please do. Also I want to contact a “new” tailor to actually get it done. Thanks.

What follows is the old description followed by a revision that occurred to me while writing this (after spotting some horrible mistakes).

Description:

This white mantle would be white if it wasn’t completely rendered into tatters and completely stained into a yellow-brownish tone. Being of a great size the mantle has been meshed, into a crude robe. Brown marks predominate on the back side, being the result of being lain on top of quadruple manure and showing sings of burn. The front is extremely garbled with what appears to be dried blood staining a large portion of it. Holes can be spotted here and there, with sometimes whole portions of the robe frayed barely attaching to the whole of the mantle looking like as if they were pieces of rag crudely attached to it. The robe is long with the rim raggedy do to wear and abandon, with mud and even some footprints haphazardly bloated all over, showing sings of either being stepped on by the wearer or passerby. The top side of the mantle has been arranged into a rudimentary hood that is copious enough to completely cover the wearers face and block much of the light out, but like the rest of the mantle it is in ruinous condition. The improvised robe is in such bad condition that not even a caretaker would consider using it for chores.

Name: A dilapidated robe

This mantle would be white if it weren’t completely stained into a yellow-brownish tone due to age and abandon. Being of great size it has been meshed into a crude robe that has been completely rendered into tatters and drags across the floor. Manure blotches a large expanse of the robe along with signs of burn. The front has splatters of dried blood and mud. Severe signs of tear spread everywhere, with portions completely frayed barely holding by a few threads looking like strapped rags. A rudimentary shredded hood has been crafted from the top that entirely veils the face of the wearer.

The robe is completely made out of cloth.

I'll give it a shot.

Appearance: a ragged, befouled robe
Dropped: A ragged, befouled robe has been abandoned here like so much refuse.
Examined: What might have been a pristine white wool robe no longer bears any resemblance to such a garment. Instead, age and neglect have rendered the thick, durable fabric a dingy, unappealing ochre spattered with suspicious and clearly unwholesome stains. Threadbare and moth-eaten, it has become little more than a shapeless mass of frayed hems and filthy rags that hangs perpetually askew however securely it might be fastened. Scorch marks provide charred stripes in random patterns along the sleeves, and a beggar's tattered mockery of a regal train drags listlessly behind the wearer. Only the hood is in even a marginal state of repair; soiled and unkempt though it may be, it remains surprisingly voluminous and the shabby wool falls in heavy folds about both head and shoulders.

I really like the feeling your description conveys. Thank you for submitting it. It goes perfectly with the image that goes on my head of someone who died due to pest, in his last struggle spews blood and his body releases other things just as his body is about to expire. And folks decide to burn his body wrapped in that "mantle" just so a heinous vagrant snatches it away from the departed concluding that he won’t needed wherever he is going just to later find himself fighting some mutts over it... A king of flies and rot.

Mind if I use your description?

Also, are you a tailor?

If so I would very much like to speed through the crafting process and be more than exited to hire you, and your obvious designing skills, for the job.

Hm, what is average price for a great robe?

I'm glad you like it, and you're more than welcome to use it if you like! happy.gif Unfortunately, I'm an artisan, not a tailor, but it shouldn't be hard to find someone to submit a custom design for you. You might have some success asking on the Market channel, too.

Had no idea you switched back to Artisan. Hrm.

As for Tailors, I'm one.

I've always been an artisan! biggrin.gif

Kharaen's got her own cartel, so she should be able to get the design in for you pretty quickly- though turnaround depends on the Charites. Good luck! happy.gif

Ugh, I thought you went jeweler for some reason! Well, I told Din to let you in Para for free, just let him know when you're around.

Excellent. It's like a greatrobe you'd wear in Silent Hill.

Then it is settled. I’ll just go take this lovely design (funny, considering we are talking about a gruesome robe, but the finesse in the design is unquestionable) and find myself a tailor. If luck is with me Kharaen will be accessible around the same time I loiter through realms.

I can see that. *stares “at her design table” and then to the signature*

Coincidence? :wonder:

Between you and me, I hope this robe helps start a new fashion trend of dressing in rags! Ha, because all the garments I have seen so far are top fashions.

Hrrmph. I had 'thick, unkempt leather robes' made before this post, and me and Silenus are already wearing them.
