What's worse, if you were Security when you got made GA you still carry security privs, but if you're GA first, there's no way to become appointed Security other than stepping down and then recontesting for your own position. This makes no sense at all. Malicia and I wrestled with this long ago and even Lisaera couldn't cut through the Gordian knot.

No. Aison was Security before she was GA and she lost all her Security privs. She can't get them back, either.

I'd have to agree. I'm not entirely sure what GA's have access too (besides doing Admin stuffs for the guild) but it'd be helpful for those to have guard and "ripple/flux" abilities

I think giving them security privs would be a confusion of their role. It makes sense for Champions to have security privs (defenders of the land and all that) and for GMs (they are the commune leaders, and make defense decisions on behalf of the commune). Security issues don't really fall under the role of the Administrator.

That said, I do think it should be possible for the GA to be appointed to Security. I think they're two different roles, but there is no reason the same person can't do both.
