So I've noticed now in choke Monks can attack with thier whole combo (3 hits) with a single input while in choke, meanwhile Warriors have the deal with swing each weapon individually which really blows so we need something that can turn it into a single attack.

I agree.
Murphy2007-07-23 10:29:35
I don't, having weapons on seperate balances makes it much different, and better than achaea.
Once you get good, you will realise just how much power there is in being able to split up your attacks. If you want a single attack, take a 2 hander specialisation, but there is a lot to be said for warriors who learn how to use their split attacks effectivley.

just charge them out of the room and you wont have to fight in choke. They will have to release shadows into the next room before being able to choke again. Charge also has the effect of forcing them to call their ents again.

There's also the fact that once a monk starts their form sequence, unless they want to terminate, they cant change it, while warriors can alter their target whenever they want.
Desitrus2007-07-23 18:01:04
Both of the one-handed specs have absolutely devastating attacks you can use in choke. I used to love fighting in choke as bm/bc.
Bashara2007-07-27 02:24:48
From what I've gathered about monks, you do have to change your targetting. And doing something like that where you need multiple actions in Choke is a nightmare. As for fighting in Choke, I rather like being an Aslaran Axelord with a 494 greataxe and Sweep. I sweep your leg, I break your kneecaps. I strike your leg, I slice your thigh. Oh, and I might've applied a poison or two. Cure that and keep up your attacks.

No tendon? For shame.
Bashara2007-07-27 02:39:51
They're both nice, but I prefer Slicethigh.
Now, I could've gone completely in the other direction. I Sweep your head with a maneuver whose only afflctions are Shatterjaw, Slitthroat and Behead. I'm fairly sure I can get Shatterjaw or Slitthroat in one shot on a squishier target, maybe two. After that, it's all cake until I finally nail you with the one that counts.

Warriors do have a DSL, its called Pulp and Haymaker.
perhaps the power cost should be lowered? *duck*

As long as Execute only requires me to have critical wounds on one area; your gut, chest or head. Seriously.

What I mean is placing both attacks into a single one, such as strike gut stirke head, but to go through at the same time instead of waiting for each attack to hit
Bashara2007-07-27 12:28:03
Well, if that was the way it worked, then there'd be absolutely no difference between 1handers and 2handers, except for fact that you still get to make one attack if you have one arm operational, while we 2handers don't. I'll grant you that you do have twice as many weapons to keep up with whether or not they're on balance or not, and keeping up with one is insanely hard for me to do when there's more than 5 people fighting, but still, you have a variable rate of attack, which means you can change your attacks in the middle of a fight when you notice your opponent is suddenly stancing a certain way, or has switched their parry or block to a new area, but I have half the swings and and longer time in-between recoveries before I can change.
Unknown2007-07-27 12:54:10
I've been a one-hander since the very beginning, and even in Choke, I see no reason for something like a DSL. You recover balance faster from the one-handed swing, which means you can alternate hands and keep someone in Choke (presumably the choker) constantly messed up. You swing before you regain balance on that arm, and the delay from Choke makes you swing just as you regain arm balance. If you time it right, you can take down their shield and hit them before they can get the shield back up again. Also, don't forget that you can use Pulp/Haymaker to hit someone successively in a single command.

ermm, mean comment here but how hard is it just to set an alais and type j twice?
Unknown2007-07-27 18:14:33
haymarker was lowerd to 5 power which i think is balanced well, for 4 hits 4 wounds 4 posions possibly.

choke or aeon won't recognize the alias. (although maybe if an internal lusternia alias it will? *ponder*)
Krellan2007-07-27 19:21:14
haymaker got lowered? wow combine that with puissance too and you could have some dangerousness.

puissance would only work for the first hit still.
Krellan2007-07-27 19:45:54
i thought you said it worked for the whole string of hits? since haymaker is the equivilent of pulp and I thought you used pussiance+pulp to make sure you got pussiance on both hits and then a shadow and then you instant killed Shamarah.
