Does anybody actually care about shofa stats? They always have a total of 300 and the minimum is 95 for one stat so they don't vary a whole lot, unlike warrior weapons. Can i keep making shofas that cost less than 500 gold in commodities to craft? Thanks.

Nejii cares. And because they have a set minimum and set total, it actually makes it really hard to get high stats. I've been trying to get something with 100 speed exactly, and at least 103 precision for a long time. After many many reforgings, I still haven't got it.

Also, despite what Sojiro told me, it's possible to get over 105 in any one stat. I got a 106/97/97 once.

It's possible to get 110/95/95.

Except it's 1 in 14348907 chance of getting that, I think.

How much of a difference do the numbers make? Significant enough to care?
Rika2007-08-04 19:18:06
Nejii says the speed is very important. One point can stuff him up. I'm assuming it's not as big of a deal for the other two, but still pretty important.

Yeah, as it seems you just need to worry about the speed. It's hard enough for monks to use any amount of strength/precision in combat.

Alrighty then. Sounds annoying. I was hoping it wouldn't matter at all but now I guess we'll eventually have people who demand matching pairs of 105+ speed kata weapons.
Did anybody do any tests? With other weapons having 10 more speed is something like .1 second faster (or so I heard), what's it like with shofas?
Rika2007-08-05 02:11:37
I think the difference between warrior weapon speed and kata weapon speed is that warriors have two arm balances which is used one at a time, while kata weapons are used in a combo.

I haven't really been able to tell much difference. My weapons are actually both high in accuracy, for the slightly higher wounding. Our damage revolves highly around stacking up wounds, so that's the stat I rely on the most. I haven't actually done any testing, but I haven't been able to tell any clear difference with +5/-5 in any of the stats.

Because forging sucks.

I'm actually most curious to see how unmatched speeds work out for shofas. Nor do I understand why so many people insist on matched speed weapons for knights.

Because people want their arms coming back at the same time.
