Hello,

I've been trying to learn how to fight as a Nihilist, but I'm not getting too much headway because I don't have a whole lot of skills to use - even with a few credits extra, once I've mastered cosmic/rituals and gotten potionlist and (not yet) teleport, I'll have used my lessons to level 80.

I've been looking over threads in the section, and I can't find any that cover this in specific, so sorry if this gets asked a lot. What is a good(andfun) class to learn fighting with, if you can only trans 1 or two skills?

Depending on your definition of "good": monks.

All you really seem to need is trans shofangi, gifted psychometabolism to ironskin (not sure where the useful stuff is in acro skillset wise) and as high as you can get in harmony (regeneration is a minimum, but angphet and krakphet are usefulish too.)

We're kind of bad now, but that's more cost efficient than guardian and wiccan classes, who need tritrans to do anything.

Also, monks do seem to be fun to fight with.

Mage (need myth elementalism spec and trans telepathy), monk (need what Shiri said), druid (need myth druidry and a variable amount depending on what your tertiary is), and bard (need near-trans music spec and virtuoso-ish glamours) are all good choices.

Mage and druid aren't very interesting though.

warriors are in the same department there tho. all of your offence for the most part is wrapped up in one skillset. they both have the added costs of weapons on top of robes/enchantments/curatives which sorta evens it out... but it's all right there

wiccans/guardians are too reliant on their tertiaries to suit your tastes, and magi and druids... well, you can be a valuable asset to your guild and city/org with just one skill to about mythical... but solo, you'll be aching for help from the other skills available.

bards seem to have some different routes you can go to have fun. most of their targetted attacks music-wise come before they even specialize. you could probably get away with having a half compliment of songs with some good glamour attacks

If you're looking for the absolute lowest investment you can get away with, you want bards. They gain respectable kill methods with only master music. They aren't top-tier viable at that point, but it has the potential to work. You can't say the same for druids, who become top-tier viable at about the same time they become mid-tier combatants.

you also need to take account defensive measures, such as tumble, focus time. Best cost effective race in my opinion is furrikin. free tumble, good size. level 3 magic resist counts as a trans magic. Best class would be warrior (trans knighthood) monk, what Nejii said, plus in harmony they have an mantra that lets you half focus time, meaning it'll act as if you had fabled disicpline for a 2 second balance even at inept. trust me you don't want a 4 second recovery. I'll agree that bards are good too. Master music, trans glamours and you've got all your fighting abilities right there. plus with some acrobatics you can pick whatever race, generally mugwump for combat and you'll get the acrobatics tumbling.
