Tips welcome. Not used to fighting as a mage, or against bards. I think I need a better grasp of illusions and more Telepathic combos to get better.

1. Eat faeleaf when fighting bards. Prevents HypnoticPattern, their main cheap-arse skill.
Of course, Carameshian's offense was kinda neutered by the fact he didn't strip your deafness. You'd be in trouble if he did.

2. Your writihing seemed slow. No timestamps don't help, but I got that impression. Might want to work on this.

Transfix writhing is always slow...

He didn't START the fight with sixth sense on. Observe the prompt. That's a mistake, like going to fight a Moonie with no quicksilver.


I don't mean the time it takes to writhe, but rather the amount of time it takes between getting afflicted, and starting to writhe. It wasn't about transfix specifically, but rather wounding that came later. As I said above, no timestamps don't help in this example, but I had that impression.

Having sixth sense on is a good idea but it's not really a big deal, a bard who wants to give you afterimage is going to do it regardless of whether you have sixth sense up or not.

My only other comment is to use an actual affliction instead of forcing sip choleric, especially since a bard isn't going to be using love potion anyway since their songs depend on enemy lists.

Only if you do nothing in the meantime between two Fascination attempts. Web them, paralyse +stupidify, or even shield up or run away. Anything to slow the enemy down. And since Fascination takes power, they can't keep doing it over and over forever.
