Adapting to MUSH

Hey everybody,

So I'm coming back to lusty, using Ethelon's paid system on MUSH. A couple of things I was wondering about...

-Any equivalent to the Nexus composer on mush?
-Any way to get health/mana/etc. bars that won't make everything laggy?
-How do I turn off a whole group of triggers (ie the GAG group?)

Thanks, and more are sure to come whatthe.gif

There's nothing like the composer in Nexus for any system that I'm aware of.

There's a script command
CODE
EnableTriggerGroup "GAG", false
that will turn off Ethelon's gag system (assuming it's still in VBscript, otherwise you'll have to modify the syntax. However, there isn't a way to conveniently turn off an entire group or sub-group like the class folders in zMud. You have to cycle through them.

I've never tried to use health/mana bars myself, but I remember a thread for a graphical compass widget from, like, two years ago. You should be able to modify that to have floating bars with UDP sockets to communicate with MUSH.

There is a MUSHClient plugin to show a compass and health/mana/etc. bars available here: http://forums.lusternia.com/index.php?showtopic=8903

Composer in Mush doesn't pop up in its own window, and I haven't figure out how to delete things from a post if you're editing, such as a journal page- but you put in how you otherwise would, for the most part. Enter your work as paragraphs - it may be easier to work in something like Notepad and just copy and past it all over. Lacking word wrap will help make sure it isn't going to line up weird. To get it to save, *save is the command you would want to use.

CMUD 2.03 supports ATCP, including the composer. Mudbot adds its own editor window, too.

Also, something (probably the system) seems to be gagging out part of the command line in my ab kata files...nothing in the gag group seems suspect, though. Any ideas?

Update: I've talked to Ethelon, and he doesn't have this problem with his client, so it's probably a MUSH thing. It's omitting anything within carrot brackets: <>s, even when they show up in things like tells. Anybody have an idea on how to fix this?
Arundor2007-09-16 06:29:33
I don't have this problem, so probably not a MUSHClient thing.

As an experimental measure, try turning off triggers, and check if it still omits text. That should at least narrow down the potential sources.

Are you using LMTS or IMTS, by any chance? I've seen things get omitted because of some MXP incompatibility in the mapper.
Zalandrus2007-09-16 16:00:54
I tried turning off triggers, still happens.

And yes, I recently got sham's mapper and iMap...is there a way to fix the incompatibility issue?
Bauto2007-09-16 18:21:06
yea, i got the same issue, when sham's mapper is up, it omits everything in < >, or something like <----, making it hard to read alot of AB FILES and G/CHelp Files, ways i've gotten around it, ask someone what it says, go on nexus, or.. disable the mapper
Unknown2007-09-16 20:25:23
Just disable the MXP option in the IMTS/LMTS mapper and you'll be fine.
Zalandrus2007-09-16 20:56:11
Wow! I dunno what exactly that does or means, or what consequences it has for the mapper, but I can now officially learn my kata moves.

You're awesome Zarquan!
