I was just playing around doors today and I know that apart from the open/close door business, they serve only an aesthetic presentation.

However, it's not really practical for outdoors.

What about gates? They'll act like doors, but they'll look different.

And for example you can even have a gem covered gate so it's like having glass.

I like the idea. So, the difference would be.. you're able to glance through gates, different appearance... Different levels of sturdiness like doors?

I suppose. You can have iron gates, steel gates, wooden garden gates etc. etc.

A water gate, for celest. It would be able to freeze to stop enemies from entering, but turn back to water for non-enemies. I think that would be a rather cool idea.

I guess I was thinking more along the line for manses.
