i started playing lusternia yesterday and its also my first time playing a MUD. how i navigate right now is to use maps from this site, but i have to switch between the maps and the game every 2 seconds! im using zMUD and i found out that it has an automapper. i read the automapper tutorial but didnt figure it out, so i was wondering if its possible to have premade maps and add them to the mapper? this would make it SO much easier than my current method

I don't use the zmud mapper, but one thing you can do is to put Zmud in one half of your screen, and then the map in the other half, that way you can just dart your eyes back and forth rather than minimizing and maximizing constantly.

yea but then the map is too small and theres too much text filling the mud client

zMUD has a nice automapper, but it does not work well with Lusternia's formatting. Getting it to work requires a few special triggers and quite a bit of practice and setup to get right. It's so complicated, in fact, that a few people sell their triggers which will get it working, along with some Lusternia maps to get you started. Zarquan, for example, sells a zMUD automapper system and maps to work with it. He also might be willing to give you suggestions to get you started on your own, but he will probably not tell you everything up front. That would ruin his business!

What mitbulls says is true - but when CMUD 2.x public comes out, you might want to try that instead. It supports ATCP (Achaea Telnet Communication Protocol - it's what nexus uses to get your stats and stuff, and what MudBot uses to show XP on the prompt) - part of that is being sent room descriptions and exits, which are interpreted by the mapper, and it works like a charm. Only problem is that 2.x is still beta, and might be buggy.
