I'm not sure how many other Lusternians are being effected by this, but there are over a dozen raging wildfires burning throughout Southern California and they are not even close to being contained. Judging by the lack of humidity and the high wind conditions I'm not sure when they will be either... My region has been ordered to evacuate so I'll be at an evacuation center until it's safe. I hope my house is still here when I get back :/ Best wishes to anyone else who is being threatened by these fires.

My sister has been ordered to evacuate, as well. Problem is, she's pregnant, has a toddler, her husband is in the local military base, and the government hasn't said that the folks at the base can leave yet.

We had a BIG bushfire a few years ago, on Boxing Day. We live right next to a big reserve, and the fire was about 30-50 metres away from our house when they put it out. No one had evacuated, it happened really suddenly. Everyone was OK, though.

I hope everyone is OK in California.

The company I work at is less than a mile away from the santiago fire. I'm very happy my office has good recycled air. Yesterday was a nightmare going to and from the car. So damn hard to breathe.

But today just feels like a bad summer. Damn arsonists!

I live around here too, at least I don't have school.
