Simple as it sounds.

People can cut a few hundred gem comms and get like 10 powerstones.. when gem comms are over 100 per that can mean costs are high. I know the odds to get them used to be better (as reflected by previous costs of 500-600 per stone), do you think it was a good thing they were made rarer or just make things harder?

(The poll also takes into account the economic effect, where powerstones would likely be cheaper but be more common which could also make enchanting cheaper as it costs less to get supplies).

For those you truly not aware of what I mean by the powerstone situation and not selecting as a 'Theres no problem' answer....

Currently powerstones seem to be exceeedingly rare.. like 4-5% chance to get one? thats 1 every 20-25 gems? Which is 1 every minimum 2-2.5K gold. Can you see why prices can get to 1500?

The problem is how rare they are even if they are being cut specifically for that. If they were more plentiful costs for people could go down based on how the % changed.

Sell the gems? People always need gems. Vials, weapons, robes, jewelry, thrones...

I never had trouble getting powerstones as an alchemist. Ever. Now powerstones get used for totems and I have no trouble finding stones for that, even though I don't stock them like I used to, since I'm not an alchemist anymore.

Are there any people having problems with getting powerstones that don't have stores with multiple kegs, cubes, and enchantments? I think the key factor in the problem is that more stores are trying to go mega-store, and that's just straining every resource out there, including powerstones.

An ability to focus on powerstones would be nice...that way, if you need them, you can focus on them, and in turn, if you really do just want the cut gems, you can focus on those instead.

I will just get mine from Myndaen or now I guess it is time to charm Ialie. (or blackmail her somehow, but she never cares about any "secrets" I may discover) losewings.gif

Why are three of your options "There aren't enough"?

You're just paving the way to dilution of your own point. Even if 3 out of 4 agree, statistically, they'll all get the same numbers and everyone will say, "See? There is no issue-- it has as many votes as the rest!"

Edit: And now that I've glanced at the poll results, it seems that this is indeed the case. It would be 9-6-5 (Yes/No/Don't care) right now, but instead it's 3-6-6-5 (Yes/Yes/No/Don't care).

Only a small quibble, but how does "cutting for powerstones" actually work? Think IC here - either there's a powerstone in the gem or there isn't.

You buy 500 gem commodities and cut them looking specifically for powerstones, throwing the rest of the rubbish away.

(Okay, so you actually keep and sell the other gems to try and defray your costs somewhat, and then use the powerstones for profit).

But you're right, actively trying to focus for more one way or the other doesn't really work.

'You begin to focus on searching for powerstones in the wares here.'

It makes more sense you would focus on getting powerstones by looking for good comms, or perhaps you take smaller fragments of stone and combine them later?
