The Kephera quest is ridiculous. Completely off the wall. There's a reason it's only been done two times in the history of ever. One was because we were going to get something majro out of it (and we speculated it was a guild. And the mobs all told us to.) The other was um, due to my raw charisma I suppose.
This reason is that it's MASSIVELY tedious.
Now, this said, there are a few good points to it, which could probably stand to be reused:
1. Doing it alone would just be retarded, if it's even possible at all. Probably isn't. And it would take like weeks. Doing it in a team of four-five? Not so much! I love this fact. It made us cooperate and coordinate and was quite fun. Problem is that only one person gets the honours lines. Since I led the charge this time it was me, and last time it was Forren/Kalodan/Alianna, but I feel quite sorry for everyone else who spent hours on it and doesn't see much of a reward (though the Shofangi will probably compensate.) Please make everyone who did a phial for Zenobia or touched a button in the winning mastermind web puzzle sequence get the honours line.
2. We're not forced to do it (THANK GOD). We got RP incentives but we don't massively lose out if it's not done. So I don't thnk anyone would feel obligated even if it wasn't tedious.
3. It's in the undervault, which has its own set of advantages and disadvantages, but I just think the size and continental nature of the vault makes it a good place for various reasons.
So the problem is: it's insanely INSANELY tedious. We weren't doing it continuously this time and we only got disrupted a bit (which is way too frickin' easy to do) and it took 3 RL days. Two of those days were like half of the day. All told I think we spent about 26 hours on it. That's a group of 4 people minimum. Less than that and you're going at half that pace or worse. There are a couple reasons for this but the main one is that Kephera queens require way too many frickin' lotus spores and beetles for everything. I can't really go on in more detail without giving quest details which I can't really do, but EITHER they need to require like 1/3 as many lotus spores for empowerment and 1-2 beetles instead of 5 for hatching, OR 1/3 as many lotus spores for empowerment and the ability to shove the male eggs out of the incubators.
Also, Queens need to be not killable so incredibly easily. No mob that requires manual rezzing of the scale these girls do should be killable without substantial effort. Zenobia is pretty easy considering all the effort that goes into empowering her but at least she's not a total wuss and puts up a supernal-strength fight. (See: illithoid mobs, of which there are only 3 and they respawn on their own.)
So, I can say this never caring whether the quest gets done again, since I'm not a Kephera and I already have the honours line. So it's objective: PLEASE make this quest easier in the ways I described. It would make people actually want to do it without totally burning themselves out.

I second this; I slaved like 20 hours total doing this, first raising a queen on my own then helping out, i got like maybe 3000 gold from mob kills, thats it.

I only know of two of the Illithoid quests being done. The Dark Reaper one and the poisoning of the caravans.

The Dark Reaper is a master honors line that replaces the other 4.
To my knowledge, the 4 involve killing Zenobia, destroying the psychic web, empowering Cthlogogg into the Avatar of Illith, and then finally enslaving the Kephera.
There's also a master honors line/title for whoever does the 4 Kephera quests. (I've wanted to, but there's too many people who've done the quest to split the honors lines fairly)

Except the reward for the quest isn't supposed to be the Queens staying raised. It's supposed to be the honours line (which, I agree, should probably be somehow distributed to the major helpers).
The quests should just be less reliant on luck, and the Queens staying raised should not be a factor for whether or not Illithoid corpses can be sold (disregarding the bug, of course).

The honours line is kind of a poor reward for the massive work it takes. And yes, the reward isn't the Queens staying alive, BUT for the hours it takes to get them alive they shouldn't go down in a minute. EITHER they should put up a Supernal-strength fight OR the quest should be made less tedious by a factor of like 5. Or even both considering the illithoid mobs just repop.
EDIT: The bug seems like more of a typo...Imhohet's paying you instead of her attendants, which for balance's sake doesn't make sense.

The queens should just be uncrittable. Watching Someone get a world-shattering on the first hit (and not even triggering the guards to jump to her defense) is kind of "Erm..."
Beyond that, they can't really be soloed and do take a small group to take out. It'd be longer and slightly more dangerous without the crittiness. There's no way they should be Supernal strength, though-- trying to gather a group to take out a large number of Supernals (with all the deaths involved) shouldn't be required. The only time it SHOULD be is for Zenobia.
Though I don't mind the quest being made a little less tedious, I hope the Illithoid one is made less tedious as well.

All of these things at once (in the first post) would probably make it too easy. The Supernal strength thing is an alternative to making the quests less tedious - at least that way it's not so irritatingly easy to nullify all the hard work that went into it. Simply making the work less hard would do as well.

Yeah, but the Illithoid part is damn hard to, and if I remember only Kaervas has the honors? I remember helping with the final part of it and I pushed things too, but no honors for me. I think both sides needs some serious changes to how damn hard it is to do, but not sure with as in depth the quests are, how to make it better.

Because those quests are supposed to be incredibly hard and tedious. It should make you have a giant group. (that's the intent from what I can tell) So...get a biiig group for them, or don't do them at all.
And for the queens: don't change a thing and just make a respawning kepheran corpsebuyer, problem solved.

The quests are hard and tedious even with a big group. They don't actually get that much faster even with a larger group than the 5-6 we were running (which was most of the people who could tank one hit from a cave fisher for the length of the time-scale the quest required) because of the spawn rate of beetles/loti. If it were acceptable for groups and massively tedious for solo that would be another matter.
EDIT: In case you knew all that and just posted it anyway: nothing should be tedious in a game. Games are fun. Tedious is not fun. Designing tedium into a game on purpose is a really really bad idea.

Grinding ain't fun. And guess what, Lusty is full of it. I in no way mean to badtalk Lusty, but it is full of stuff that you need to do over and over again.
So why should the UV-quest suddenly be different?
Additionally, Lowe already said it. If you want to do the quest, you know how annoying it is going to get. If you can't handle that, then just don't do the quest.
