Submitting TYPO Reports 101
Greetings and welcome, class!
Today's lecture will be on the fine and intricate art of submitting typo reports to the administration staff.
During this lecture we will learn how to use the TYPO and TYPOHERE commands properly as well as what information is and is not useful. In order to expedite the process and make it as painless as possible for all parties involved.
For your standard typos involving mobiles, items, and things not related to rooms, the TYPO command is your friend.
It is recommended that you keep your reports as detailed as possible, giving us the number of the item in question or other relevant information that can help us find what it is to which you are referring.
Examples of useful TYPOs:
-fink123 has a typo on the third line of its examined description. "fuzzzy hair" should be "fuzzy hair".
-list12345 has a typo in its written description. The mobile that gave me the letter told me that they wanted 200 shots of vodka but when I read the shopping list it said 201.
-demon666 was speaking to me and told me that I'm a nice young girl. I'll have you know that I am male and the demon was wrong.
Examples of poor TYPOs:
-"So and so" is not a real word. Fix now kthxbai.
- Alright, I agree. It's not a real word. Now it's time to search through hundreds of thousands of items within the database in the hopes of finding that single reference of a "not real" word. Add an item number to this or tell us where you saw it and we're in business.
-the lady called me a guy but I'm a girl
- I'm sorry that your gender was confused. I would like to correct the confused and obviously blind lady for you but I'm afraid I don't know who said it and there are thousands of ladies in the game. Item number?
-Morgfyre told me that I "smeeled" bad but he spelled it wrong! It should be "smelled"!
- I'm very sorry that this happened. I'm sure you smell like roses and Fain will be properly flogged for his typo. (Wot? - Fain)
Now on to the next lesson, TYPOHERE or TYPO HERE.
TYPOHERE/TYPO HERE is used specifically for room related typos. The beautiful thing about this particular command it lets us know exactly where to find the typo in question so that it can be corrected in a more efficient manner. We'd hate for that typo to sit there for months nagging at you because we couldn't find the typo in question.
Example of useful TYPOHEREs:
- TYPOHERE in the room title there is a typo. "dramattic" should be spelled "dramatic". plz fix kthxbai XOXO -Lisaera
- While the xoxo is not necessary it's always nice to see someone loves me for my work.
Example of poor TYPOHEREs:
- TYPO HERE There's a typo in this room. Fix now.
- Ok... where? What?
- TYPO HERE There is a fink here that has 'fuzzzzy' hair. I didn't think finks had hair.
- Unfortunately, said fink has wandered off and now I have to look through all the finks to find the offender.
