So, how does the mask work? Does it drop on aggressive action or do people just have to target your race? And, if you have a loyal, when probed, does it show as being loyal to "a masked aslaran" or whatever your descriptor becomes? I ask that because if you kill a denizen, it'll show something as being loyal to their corpse or whatever, so, it'd be really cool if loyalties were hidden by the mask as well.

Ask Geb, he knows. But I think it works as in if you are in the room, and I do ql or look, I will see a "masked is here, wielding ."

Which to me is why it isn't worth that many credits, simply because if a GC has it, you will know who it is. Or anyone who has specialty named weapons. Also if it is a geomancer/aquamancer or a celestine/nihilist, you will be able to tell by the weapon if they are friend or foe. And it doesn't stop guards from recognizing you, so they will just kill you if they see you in enemy territory.

(Now this is what I was told when they were first auctioned and won, they may have changed it some, but not sure.)

Well the guard thing and weapon thing is something I figured, but its actions part that makes me wonder. Cause, if I can use Telepathy Dominate on someone and not have my identity revealed, that's definitely worth the credits, but if I use the ability and my mask drops, that would suck.

Unwield your weapons. Your supposed to be concealed anyway, the first attack of opportunity doesn't provide much advantage. Sneaking around is just really really cool, I think it outclasses Gem in terms of coolness where as it is pricey.

Oh! also, does the mask hide your identity from MindScan or scent or stuff like that? There really needs to be ways to conceal your identity from all those abilities, even if they're all individual artifacts.

I agree it 's way to expensive for what it does, the Gem of cloaking was a nice artifact for the price. Is that even listed any more? I don't see it on artifacts misc. If the Mask was able to be at a set cost of 500-600 credits and a few extra abilities then I feel it would be worth it.

Yes, I agree it is not worth the price. I purchased it assuming it would work like the masks used by predators in Imperian, but the statement Ashai made is correct. If you perform any aggressive action, the mask falls off before the act is even completed. You don't even get in one sneak attack first.

The gem of cloaking is 1 of 2 artifacts in 19.10.2 Defensive artifacts.
The other one is the powerplex gem.

yeah we genderbend, bubblize, and break mirrors. plus scent, scan, mindsense, scry, farscout and who knows how many others. Oh yeah Demesnes.

It was meant to be a non combat and just a roleplay artifact anyways. Maybe the price should just get lowered and we should leave it how it is?
