+ ARTIFACTS: The Mind Shield Great Rune now halves the burnout time from
debates, in addition to its current effect. This represents a fairly
significant upgrade, and the price remains unchanged.
Great Rune of Mind Shielding (200 credits)
- Halves the ego burnout time!
- Only one will ever be effective per person (i.e., does not stack).
I am slightly confused. What did the rune do before? Can you get ego burnout from more than merely debates?

Halving debate burnout recovery time is pretty damn nice - it doesn't take much imagination to look ahead and wonder if this artifact may soon be considered "required" for effective village influence.
I suppose it would depend on how it actually works. Does it only half the burnout of whoever bears their mark on the rune? Does it half the burnout time of whoever has possession of it at the time of getting debated out? Will it work if you pass it around to several people who are already burnt out?
I don't know. I'm torn between wanting to get it and wanting to boycott it.

I disagree with this. I think it makes the power of debate less potent in a revolt, making it more about a zerg tactic rather then bothering to debate properly. But I guess we will have to wait for the first revolt to really notice the effect

I think newbies being able to chant laeticia or whatever is pretty unfair too. My suggestion was to make it impossible to chant laeticia or whatever if one had a shattered or burned out ego. This prevents the city zergs and with their underzerglings from just chanting the zergling overseers and completely ignoring being debated while also giving considerable aide to whoever is on the receiving end of the chant.

Or just make it self only. It'd still be a fairly powerful debate skill.

Some people said that the last time I mentioned it. I usually go for smaller nerfs since I figure they're easier to pass through.

Don't communes get ego regen in a totem? Maybe give them something useful for debates/influences instead of nerfing a city skill.

Daytime only, relatively minor.
