Bashing Areas and Astral Draining

All the complaining and etc. hopefully has burnt itself out by now. Hopefully this thread will be where you can come to place some input on some ideas to help alleviate the problem of all the purposeful draining of nodes, or other things that will help open up bashing areas.


Sewers: I saw some people posting about sewers. I think as it stands right now, sewers are pretty high on the environment skillset, so being able to enter them, you end up being of some non noob level.

This should give cause to having decent monsters in the sewers.

Celest: Fallen Angels, Sects that are against the Light, Cultists, etc.
Magnagora: Improperly summoned demons, Supporters of the Light, Cultists against the Engine

Make the area fit for how high a level skill it is to be able to get down there in the first place.

Have the mobs drop some gold, but not a gold mine.
Make the exp value of the kills good. Much better than killing a bloated eel or their offspring.
Have the sewers lead into lower level dungeons of Magnagora/Celest that may have been used for interrogation purposes in their time.
This could also add in mobs such as crazed prisoners. Which would be even harder to kill, leave no gold but great exp (prisoners aren't rich)
Possibly make a small quest for it. (Not needed though)

Have it so that if the city does not clean up its sewers every so often, it could lead to a small uprising of sewer mobs (no not the eels) reaching the surface and causing in street fighting within the cities.

Now for an even bigger twist, you may be able to link them to Undervault in someway, in which It would give Celest and Magnagora a way to enter/exit a city while bypassing the guards at the gates.

If the above is considered, then there should be allowed guards at these entrance/exit points, but they have to be summoned from these points.


Now this is only an idea. But it would add on to an existing area of Lusternia that has no real purpose at this moment. You may wish to crucify the idea.... But be civil. I placed this in the ideas thread, because this thread is the place where admins ACTUALLY look for new ideas.

So please don't let it turn into another whine/rant page about things.


And for communes, well I don't know how they may work (I am not sure if they have a sewer style system) So that may be hard for them. They may be able to implement a series of underground tunnels, have it full of more natural monsters etc....


And if GOLD truly is the issue, then make some of the monsters things that can be either "skinned" for their hide (allowing for new commodities for all types of things) or to be able to be turned in for gold by some unsavory person in the city.


Again, please don't destroy this thread with rants... it is Ideas we need, not rants... be constructive and think outside the box.

What would you all do to make the things we have better for bashing??

The Trees layer of communes could work as their 'sewers'. If the weevil (counterpart of rats) population goes high enough, they start falling from the trees onto people's heads. happy.gif

Well, I can't come up with commune ideas.. Hopefully by working on the sewers the communes can come up with there own layout, then we can try to put it all together in the end with a commune layout plan and objective for them and one for cities.

I like the idea of hunting through the treetops... the living bridges have sort of opened up a starting point for that idea. Though if it's not feasible, then I'll just do what I always do-- hunt in Celest's sewers smile.gif

I like most of what you wrote. The mystery of it all, interrogation chambers, secret experiments and societies, sounds cool! So long as they are sufficiently different (not just Taint supporters in Celest's sewers and Light supporters in Mag's) I think it could be a really neat addition to RP!

Thanks, and yea... I think it could be fleshed out more. But if Estarra is willing to look into something like this, it could be refined more by Morgfyre and Fain (I say them because they are both awesome when it comes to descreptive type things, and the other admins may have more than their hands full (including Fain and Morgy tongue.gif ))

They easy part about it is that the sewers already exits, these treetops already exist. So it would be just a matter of adding mobs into these places.

The whole rise to the surface or come down from the trees thing could be considered later. Same with adding on some extra areas in each of the orgs sewers/tree top things. These too could feasably be added after they test out the "new npc mobs" that can just be tossed in.

This also gives the players a place to bash, and in the meantime, it wll give the admin time to add in some history to the "lower levels/higher levels" of sewers or treeptops.

If it is accomplished, I would love to see the level range of NPC from 75-90 for bashing, (The deeper you get, the higher chance of some harder more exp yeilding monsters.)

And if the idea is welcome, think of the potential it can lead to. You can have certain mobs down there that are hard enough that they cannot simply be soloed, thus giving the communes or cities a reason to form groups for things inside their own city walls.

The idea for the communes was to create a CREVICE which is the same as a sewer grate.

CREVICES could also exist in the undervault. and alink from the undervault to the sewers to the crevices to the communes would be awesome.
