Hrm, just a minor idea.
Maybe some sort of gargolyes for the rooftops. They act like guards, but only for the rooftops, and they can't cross certain areas. Kinda like they can't jump from roof to roof, but so help you if you are on their roof.
Just a minor idea.

That'd be like guards for the tree's
Suggestion for that?
Edit: Overgrown birds for Tree's!
Crow's for Glomdoring
Bluebirds for Serenwilde

Kudzu vines. Grown up and hungry kudzu vines.
Munsia2008-01-09 07:54:23
What's a Kudzu vine?
Rika2008-01-09 07:56:07
One of the creatures in the Seren Nexus world.
Shiri2008-01-09 07:56:44
It's like a regular vine, but more aggro. And if you say it 3 times Daganev turns up and makes obscure metaphors about Glomdoring.
Anyway, what is the problem you're trying to solve with this, Jigan?

Ah...well then..Sure
Jigan2008-01-09 08:00:32
Bleh, just kinda like guards up on the roofs. It'd be nice if we didn't have to worry about people dragging us away at the Pool. Or, if any 'kari get up there, they have to be careful to avoid the gargoyles.
Xavius2008-01-09 08:03:12
No, I want the cities to deal with the ridiculous buggy nonsense of guards on two elevations. It's poetic justice.
Unknown2008-01-09 08:03:43
If this gets implimented, make them not work during the daytime, plz

Technically the guards wouldn't get stuck up there with what is happening.
Same as if you seize someone into the tree's.. the guards will not respond.

So what does Magnagora get out of this, since Celest doesn't have any people who this would affect? it seems pretty onesided

You're protected from the Blacktalon of Doom who can attack you from the rooftops while your Geomancers aren't able to staffcast back at us.
Jigan2008-01-09 08:09:44
Bleh, forgot about that. Wonderful, I go into thinking mode and forget about that. Well, I think it was a -decent- idea. Not terribly terrific, but decent.
Namely, the entire thing is guards on the roofs. If it was allowed, I could probably think of something to justifiy them in a roleplay sense, but...only if it's allowed.
I doubt many Celestians would flee on the roof, but then again, we suddenly have a bunch of Mags in Celest playing games with us every so often.

Or raiders who can fly and land on the rooftops.
In any case, this is an idea for monk guards. Put them at ground elevation, and make their primary purpose highjumping upper elevation enemies, with a secondary attack of damage at ground elevation.

I can >.> No elevation you can use can hide from me!

Minor problem with this. Highjump doesn't work on roof elevation opponents. That also seems to need changed. Works on fliers, works on people in trees, but not roof elevation.

Bard guards should already be doing this. If they're not, make it so.
Also highjump/hexagram.
Monks should get a different pair of guards/discretionary altogether.
Arix2008-01-09 08:20:08
well, you wouldn't hit them unless they were like, on the edge of the roof, as opposed to a flyer that you would just have to be under

now THAT is a good RP idea.. plus, who wants to attack Celest during the day?
