There was a Nintendo game way back when (may have been SNES, but I don't think so, I don't remember the graphics being very good.) You were some kind of soldier or something, and you started off dropped on some kind of enemy base that's a bit futuristic (I think you're dropped off by some a spaceship) and you land on some kind of grey/white sand, and you make your way to the right and drop down a little to some metal platform. I can remember, I believe you can slide left or right. It's a side scroller. I think at some point in the game you collect red and blue things (maybe green, too) and they may or may not be disks, I believe there are a few of them (I vaguely remember red disk number 8 or volume 8). That's what opened up doors to the new area.
Halp!
I want to say your character's name was stryker? Maybe? Or Slider or something.

Google what you remember, who knows, you might come up with a review containing what you just described.

contra maybe?

That was my first guess, but he said no (I'm not familiar with NES, furthest back I've gone is SNES.)

It sounds a lot like Strider. But then, there were probably a dozen or more games that fit the vague description.

strider is a ninja game isnt it
Eldanien2008-01-11 08:49:27
Eh, sorta. But it involves a guy dropped into platform stages from his spaceship. He has the ability to slide, among other special movements. And there are objects he collects that open up doorways, serve as powerups, so on.
But again, as I said, there were lots of games that fit his description.

i believe in strider, that you had to collect volumes or something to go to different lands, new levels and such.. download the emulator, and see?

I started reading the description and I thought of Contra, or Metalslug, or Ninja Gaiden, but as I continued to read it didn't fit those descrpiptions at all. So no, I don't think there are lots of games that fit that description.
