Alright, if you have any ideas for different or changes in Ascension events put them here.
I like most of them, but I just have a problem with the Harmony event. Below is just copied and pasted my feelings from another thread. I'm not sure if people agree or disagree with this since it didn't really get a response, so I'm posting it here hoping for ideas or maybe I'll come up with one of my own.
My real concern is the event where we influence denizens for points, the harmony event I believe. This event is absurdly skewed for people who are commanders. Which really might not seem like a lot because why? Most people already take commander as a spec instead of the other two. I think this needs to get changed. The problem is probably due to the construct adding an extra 25% experience bonus in aether bubbles plus the denizens already relative strength. Anyways, not commanders need a chance too. Anyone who has ever won this event is a commander or has been fused to bubbles by a commander. You should not -require- an optional skillset to win this.

Basically, I think for all of the events, special mobs should be created and populate the basin. They should only show up in public areas on prime and not in villages or cities.
There should be no advantage for having a cubix, or being from the right town/ owning the most villages.
It should really be open to everybody.
On the other hand, I think that demigods should get some sort of bonus somehow, to make it slightly more likely and easier for them to win. (but not titans)

I don't really see a problem here. I mean, Death is going to be dominated by bards and high-level monks, and a druid or guardian has little reason to even bother competing.
Also, I think the point-value is set by mob - that is, an experience bonus/penalty will not affect your points for the event (though you will, of course, get more/less experience).

I just don't like how the events tie in with the rest of the world.
It doesn't seem make much sense.
However, if each seal would spew forth specific things, related to the seal, then the "game" factor makes a bit more sense to me.
i.e. the Death seal spews out hords of skeltons and zombies of various sizes across the basin, and asks that they be returned by slaying them.
Harmony seal shoots out spirits of young children , adults etc from times past that coalese into bodies, and you have to use various influence techniques to convince thier spirits to go back to the seal. etc.

Can we not have such an anti-climactic ending for the Ascension this time? I still wholeheartedly support my 'Lusternia vs Kethuru' plan, as detailed here.

The harmony event is mostly based on access to influencable mobs. You can do well with an okay amount of charisma. THe only real requirements are trans influence and commander. THis is just one more thing that detracts from people choosing combateering/empath and deters from the shift of conflict to the nexus worlds/offprime/aetherspace.

Why do you need Commander?

If you need commander you also need your own aethership!
Better just to have the events create speical mobs for the event.
Noola2008-01-09 22:43:57
I can see the aethership part, cause of getting to those bubbles... but do you have to be a commander to fly one? I honestly don't know. I haven't delved into that aspect of things much yet.
I kind of wish I had a lil aethership though... I bet someone could make a killing off of ferrying people to and from those aetherbubbles for influencing!

Every Harmony winner has started at the aether bubbles and they're also commanders or have had help of commanders.. ALso these last for an hour so you can fly back there at midnight when every mob resets for influencing.

Every? Has there been more than one? I mean, I get what you're saying.... though I'm still not sure where the commander requriement comes from. I'm assuming it has something to do with the ships. I still think someone with a super small super fast ship who isn't interested in trying could make a bundle off of charging folks to get to the aetherbubbles.

Commanders have fusion so they can use flashpoints, Noola. 5 minute trips take 10 seconds. And there has been one harmony seal challenge, but there might have been other influence games throughout the year, like the Purple Hamster was used a few times for hamsterhunts.

Ahhhh! Thank you for explaining it!

They're has been harmony events just randomly when they started making world events as well as harmony events during the 10 year ire anniversary and lusternia's 3rd year anniversary.
