Normally I'm strongly against changing/disallowing skills for certain events, but as I look toward the Wargames, I have a few concerns about some of the issues that will flow naturally from the 3v3 format..
One thing that really concerns me is skills that let you pull one person completely out of the fight.. Namely Maze, Bubble, and Fleshstone.... These 3 skills mean that any team with them has a significant advantage in any combat scenario, simply by virtue of the ability to remove one of their opponents from the fight entirely.
I'd like to propose that those 3 skills be disabled for the Seal of War, given their extremely lopsided effect on group combat.
Thoughts?

Oh, well now I feel extra stupid.
My point about Bubble/Fleshstone stands!

Hmm, I don't know. You're right in a sense, but there are other skills with massively lopsided group combat effects (remember how Ariatas, Daedalion and -Marina- beat all those other teams due to choke + healing?) Heck, someone getting sapped in a druid demesne isn't gonna have much of a chance, and unlike with maze/bubble/fleshstone that actually kills them. Doesn't seem like there's much point banning one really strong tactic without trying to nerf the others - you'll just get wrecked by the others instead, you know people will use whatever they can find. In this case I think you're going to have to just work around it.

The best solution is clearly to team with a druid.

And a Bard. And a Healer...and a Wiccan...

I think all skills should be allowed. The aim of the game is to fight with what you got to be the best. Not hamper all the skills that are good.
Inquisition stops players from healing for a moment. Gusting/pushing out of the room removes you from the room. That bard kick removes you from the room

You can't really just pick one thing to not allow from the event, out of all the potentially deadly combos out there. And finding all of them and banning them from the event would be a bad direction to go...
Ashteru2008-01-15 16:36:57
Same sentiment, you'd have to disallow pits as well, or inquisition, since it puts them out of the fight for a long amount of time.
Daganev2008-01-15 16:39:11
I thought bubble, and pits don't work in the arena either. I basically remember anything that "creates new rooms" doesn't work.

Neither bubble or pits create new rooms... pits create a new elevation, just like trees. Bubble just moves you around from room to room, unable to do anything.
Kharvik2008-01-15 17:03:09
It's all well and good you think disposing of these skills will give you a better chance Visaeris, but I'm afraid team Kharvik has decided to take this seal and shall thusly kick yo ass

The way I see it, choke will win and that's the end. Or we'll have a complete stalemate. I don't really envision moving into choke. Is anyone going to move into our demesne? Well... At least I'll reserve a block of HOURS to fight this battle.

Agreed, I don't see my team entering choke, or, while ground sap still stands, a druid demesne.
Unknown2008-01-15 19:44:56
I'd imagine if there's a stalemate one of the gods will release beastie mobs into the arena to get people moving. Someone else mentioned that, it happened before in some event's FFA (think it was the Lusternia anniversary?).

Maze should be allowed. Hurumph
Daganev2008-01-15 20:04:17
How can you lose with choke and a monk and a druid demense? *points Xavius's thread*
Krellan2008-01-15 20:20:43
Clearly, teams will want to be rushing the demesne teams like the previous wargames. Hopefully, whoever runs the event will know how to tell which side is camping and for when there are two camping teams staring at each other, which side has no possible chance of winning if they engage another camping team. Like a two warrior and a monk team waiting outside of Xavius' team. Course if it's just two Xavius like teams then bring on the army of doughboys to attack both sides.

Just throw the combatants into the same room, undeffed and unprepared and watch the chaos.
But seriously, no matter what is allowed....I predict a team with at least 2 monks winning this.

I predict the best to go in with a rush (not necessarily combos) to win. If you get insta pin legged, doublewhammied sleep sleep, and member 3 just wails on you your in serious trouble. Sleep + pinleg = death. While on the same note Sap with hexist using paralysis/impatience stuff and a monk just bashing on your prone form is ouch. A monk in choke isnt all that powerful when entangled because of delays etc etc etc.
Its not who is the most OP or least balanced, its partly who entered and partly HOW they play.
We got Richter to final round off of how we played and less who entered (Richter isnt a combatant and Bauto was really at this time either :/)
