Sorry if you voted in the last one! Editting polls is bad and deletes votes.

Round two! Vote!

Since the forums spazz if I try to move posts, Verithrax said this:

"If you can cure reasonably well, you shouldn't die?"

All classes should be able to eventually outpace curing. What decides fights is who does it first, and that's the major issue with balance.

For the first one, I voted for the last option, simply because it seems nice to different ways to kill somebody, be it long or short run. I don't think that you should be able to survive and only die if you make a major mistake, in the upper tiers, that will rarely happen. (Of course, everyone makes mistakes, but I don't think grave mistakes happen often)

Second, I voted for the third option, primarily small group combat with consideration for solo. Because, well, duels happen, but the most common fights are ALWAYS groupfights. Things like insta-sacc or choke+demesne could be balanced then, for example.

Third, I voted for everything, simply because I like the thought of adding a slew of skillsets that leaves a choice for every playstyle you want. (E.g., playing meatshield or fast and strong, but vulnerable. Like, adding acrobatics to warriors as a second choice instead of athletics. )

I disagree with Verithrax though. IRE combat isn't really built to handle that. Maybe you're not taking into account that defensive measures include running away for a little to catch up. There's also the attrition plan of "running out of power/cures" already in the system, so it doesn't need adding to even more.

Really I do not believe perfect offense should always outpace curing indefinitely or combat would just be long and drawn out to stack affs.

I think while I voted everyone should have burst and attrition, it shouldnt be on a bard level. A knight just plain shouldnt kill you in 20 seconds because they use power for skill X Y and X, so you therefore die in two hits. Slashing for some different wounds and affs and keeping you down for the 30-40 seconds they need to get your head to high wounds and behead? that is more so quite fine.

Some guild would need major changes to pull this balancing off though :/

Hmm, difficult spread on the first one, but it looks pretty clear that players think primaries are meant to be the main focus for combat and you're allowed to have secondaries and tertiaries that do things badly in exchange for other things.

It also looks 100% clear that group combat is a factor.

Yeah, I'm not liking the way no one agrees on the power level they want to see.
