Somethings:

1. Power expenditure is really crazy. If you look at this spar, majority of the time, power is at or near zero.

I sparred Geb after this and when octave fails, I have had to run to regain power. I need power, otherwise a majority of the spells is denied me. Minorsecond spam does not really work in situations like this.

I really need more discipline i think..

2. Single attack gut impales? :wince: hmm, and why did i writhe twice in there..

3. Infidel scared the shiz out of me. Thought it was the end.

4. My latest new fangled theory
After octave is up there is really no need to rush for the kill. Some people will immediately go out of the room once they see octave, -- I cannot really prevent them from doing so.. but some will not, and try to push through. They will only get out if under trouble.. so, I was thinking maybe more web and fascinate would be more prudent.

The question is, how can I win with such a thing.. Actually, I might because of:
4.1. Trying to milk octave for all its worth and putting all four barbs, or at least three. They might be lulled into staying with me as there is no apparent major damage being done.. just some weird vibrations that prevents horehound.
4.2. I catch them eating earwort on balance, and generally have better chance of keeping them in the same room as me if i concentrate on webbing
4.3. I was counting on bloodycaps to do the dirtywork..
4.4. I'm counting on them consuming power, like trueheal and some other stuff.
4.5. Regenerate power.. so i can have access to fascination more..

The key is, shadowbeat has great passive mana/ego/health drain ability.. and coupled with powerspike, it might just be enough to encourage someone to kill himself...

I know, i know.. its a lot of things to count on.. but one can get lucky.. as what happened here.. although, i have a suspicion it might not be viable in the long run.. but recent tests indicates it works decently enough

p.s. I sparred Xiel after this and found out that bard vs bard combat can be a real bore.. :<

It was a good spar overall. Given that I haven't fought a Harbinger before I expected to be out of my depth, and I noticed I was missing a few echoes and alerts. I also had forgotten about the double mana song, which I've now accounted for in my system. However, Noctu's disclaimer that I died due to a bug is a bit humble on his part. With or without it, I would probably still have lost. The hindering there was very high throughout the whole spar. Thanks!

A spar with geb..

Thing is -- his curing and technique is very good.. I counted and must have put up the four barbs 7x and yet it does not stick.. He's like a teflon or something.. and the maelstrom and my illusions was dissipated by critique..

Hollowedground, prayer to elohora, allheal perhaps.. missing a blanknote is fatal.. and although i lost this spar, I feel ive learned a few things..

The problem is, now i dont know what to do with him..

Suggestion for fighting warriors: don't just parry the last area hit. Most warriors will figure that out and be able to avoid your parrying completely.

powerspikes are nice for truehealers, and I imagine it would be fairly nasty against someone using critique.. but yeah using 8p is worth it when you destroy 8p or more in effects I would say as a basic

You don't afflict enough. After transfix/web, you need to colourburst a few times while hypnotic/rainbow/maelstrom are down to help stack the afflictions, then drop octave, let down the aurals, stack a few more afflicts with transfix/web and your good to go.
