Anyone have any thoughts about how I can get this game on or as close to release date as possible (which is currently a sunday, so no mail :/)? It'll be sold out at my local game stores, I'm SURE.
Plus, it'd be awesome if there was great swag to go along with it, IE, pre-order at this place and you get suchandsuch a toy.
Any help would be grrrreat!

Pre-Order it, or camp out. Just feel lucky you get it now, it doens't even have a release date for Australia or Europe I'm pretty sure.

I wish I had a Wii so I could buy SSBB for a legitimate reason

I have been waiting for this game for years and years, I played the very first one when I was like eleven and it blew me away. I'm actually buying it even though I -don't- have a Wii, I just plan on bogarting my roommates'. In fact, my friend and I have been playing Melee nonstop since January, we have to hone our madhax skills, so as to evoke a better 'wtfpwn' reaction.

w00t! Picked up Brawl today. Anyone else grab it? If so, anyone interested in swapping codes so we can either play/trade levels sometime?
Ayisdra2008-03-10 01:32:05
I went to the local midnight release around here, which I pre-ordered my copy online which I get tomorrow. The release was awesome, sitting in line for 2 hours for the tournerment to start up...was suppose to start at 9pm according to their site, but didn't start to 11:15 (was suppose to start at 10:45 but didn't due to they couldn't hook the Wii up to the movie projector in the mall. Anyways, I would be willing to trade friend codes for brawl with a few people. (If you do, easiest way probably would be using PM. Also, give me your Lusternia name or something so i have some idea of who you are.)

Got it via pre-order at a Game Crazy. Unlocked all the characters already too!
I have to say, I'm pretty satisified with the results of Brawl. Pit seems a bit too good though, however my lack of experience with him or the series in general could be affecting my opinion. Overall, the characters seem to play well, I tried almost all of them out. I didn't put as much effort into my old favorites as much as I want to though. Trying out all new new new!
The level editor, while limited, works well enough that you can design some interesting stages. I'm looking forward to creating and playing on new levels. Also looking forward to what other levels people will come up with.

It is a pretty awesome game. Snake is definitely the most bad-ass character in the bunch (though a little slow).
So far I have been really impressed with the single-player mode. I knew they were trying to spruce it up, but it's finally a real game in its own right. The cheesy "10 levels of fighting everyone and then a boss" scheme that is the standard for fighters is really overdone, and I'm glad to see a fighting game go beyond that. The homages to the old games are great for people like me, who grew up with the original Nintendo as a childhood staple.
The multiplayer is, as always, superb.

I want to go out and get it but I have three finals tomorrow. Darn.
Lokin2008-03-10 19:06:24
I got it yesterday.
I forget what sunlight looks like right up until dawn. Sneaky day-star.
Good times, haven't unlock everyone yet, too busy fighting Liam and Bellarin.
Ike is a dirty character! Evil!
Also might want to use a gamecube controller, seems a little odd with the wii-mote thing, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Got mine today...didn't work, it couldn't read the disc... So I had to send it in for the repair. The repair is free thankfully, and I had loud sounds from the disc drive (you could hear the disc spinning.) so getting two repairs for free basicly. So now I wait a week or so...

Sonic shouldn't really be in there, that is my only real issue so far...It should be nintendo, or as close to it as possable. (Snake was originally nintendo.) And I hate Sonic in general.

What do you mean by 'originally Nintendo'? I know there was a metal gear game for the NES but was he ever owned by Nintendo? Sonic's appeared on nintendo consoles too so

I beleive he was owned by nintendo in the sense of his creator (sorry, can't remember them name right now) worked for nintendo, thus I think nintendo has some rights to Snake. Sonic has appeared on nintendo systems but he is Sega. The real point of my last post was that the characters this round are a bit disppointing, while I'm gald to not see two of the same characters, just one is weaker (like pikachu and pichu).
If you are going to do something like that have the weaker verison 'grow' into the stronger via smash ball (like the Samus/zero suit samus thing). Another thing that bugs me is they used a dual-layer disc, as I said before I had to send in my wii today to get it fix..., They should have used just one big disc. Use like some 100GB disc or whatever the size needed was. (yea, mini rant there.... :/)

It's fun! Pit is my favorite thus far.
We should have a Lusternia tournament.

Yeah. I've had the game for awhile (kudos for my brother working at Best Buy and snagging me a copy early Saturday night), and about 40 of my friends came over last night to do a tournament. We each put five bucks into the pot. Needless to say, I won. (Link, ftw). Though after I quit the tourney, they started doing like.. 10, 20 dollar pots. I had to kick them all out else they would've played all night. Prefer using the Gamecube controller rather than the Wii remote though.
Yes. I'm in favour of a Lusty Brawl Tournament provided we all put credits into the pot. I shall destroy all. Bwahahah.
Actually, as we speak. My friends are over again resuming their tournament from last night.
