98% stunned

There was only one significant portion of the fight where I wasn't stunned. Stupidity caused me to check secrets, unfortunately. Other than that, I was stunned the entire time. I don't exactly know how this is fair.
I had light wounds on my head before this started.
Gregori2008-03-12 01:46:15
Assuming Ethelon used Rushing, which I don't see why he wouldn't have, the problem is not with stun, the problem is with Rushing, or more to the point Faeling speed + Rushing.

A problem I am hoping to fix soon.

I would agree with this. Also, I don't see why Ninjakari need three ways to stun. It's a bit much.
Unknown2008-03-12 02:19:18
The stun didn't look that bad at all mate. Also, our stuns are VERY minor, like our Rupture Stun I believe is marked at .5-1second at most from our tests in the monk dev. It just looked bad from your post from all the spam. Also, before that point I had gotten off I think two full combo's on your head without you healing, and in the end there, the stupidity/paralzse stack stopped you from parring head and thats all I went for, so you had some serious wounds there.
Ethelon2008-03-12 02:23:46
That was me above. Also, our stuns are either Random in application or the rupture modifier is the .5 one.
Shamarah2008-03-12 02:28:35
Parry head?
Xavius2008-03-12 02:41:11
Wow, Talkan, epic fail. No parry at all. No health application at all. No focus mind attempt to get stupidity off. Your health potion failsafe must be eight seconds with as easy as it was to get you to stop sipping even. Horrible, horrible show, man.

Perhaps you didn't look at the log. I was stunned the entire time, except for the beginning where stupidity messed me up. You can't apply, parry, stance, or drink while stunned, Xavius. I don't know if you knew that or not.

And to Shamarah, again I couldn't parry while stunned. I set my stancing and parrying to head earlier because Ethelon and I had been skirmishing before this, but those parts of the fight weren't interesting and Ethelon would cubix allowing me to heal up, and I was never practically perma-stunned in those instances.

And Ethelon, you hit me only in one combo just before this with two chain hits to the head, and I walked out and applied. I just didn't copy/paste that part.
Xavius2008-03-12 03:20:19
You weren't stunned "the entire time," or even half of the time.
Ethelon2008-03-12 03:24:15
Yeah, I cubixed one time because I though you had thrown Soulless, and another time cause Narsrim was scrying me alot and all of a sudden I saw an enemy enter and just jumped. I was a little hasty as it was just Casilu, silly me.

You're correct in saying I wasn't stunned the entire time, which is why the name of the thread is called 98% stunned. If you'll look, and I mean actually look, you'll notice I was only able to throw one card the entire time. The rest of the time I was off balance or stunned. Twice I was paralyzed, but by the time I was done focusing body, I was stunned again. Seriously, read the log, Xavius.
Revan2008-03-12 03:50:24
So... it's completely fine for people to be easily able to shut down a monk... but it's NOT ok to shut down a Celestine. Ok, got it.
Xavius2008-03-12 03:50:57
I have read the log. Believe me, I'm not in favor of leaving monk imbalances untouched, and I was looking for solid data to support a subjective feel. That fight wasn't it. You didn't apply. You sipped when you didn't need to. Stupidity wrecked you, and with more than that secrets tick. You didn't try to do much about stupidity. You sat on health balance unstunned for two whole combos. That's not even touching your offensive choices. (You're getting your arse handed to you and you chose to fling lust? WTF?)

Sorry, man. You deserved to lose that fight.

Permanent stun is a big problem. Out performing an enemy is not.

The Lust tarot happened very early in the log, my arse wasn't being handed to me at the time. The only two problems with the system that I would have changed if I could do it again was to read a healing scroll a little earlier and focus mind along with pennyroyal.

There was no downtime inbetween stuns, except for the one time I listed at the beginning with stupidity. As ethelon can also attest, lag was an issue for both of us.
Xavius, I know you believe yourself to be an incredible combatant and a genius coder, but the fact is, you're speaking without knowledge in this case, no doubt. There was very minor things that could have been improved upon in my case, but neither of which would have changed the outcome of this. The stun was too frequent, causing me to never have an opportunity to attack.

See that? Where you flung aeon? That's you dying because you went the whole fight without applying. And you see that complete lack of health sipping or application for three whole combos? Right before that in the log, you were safely in another room, still not applying, still not resetting parry, still not setting stance. That stun did not hinder you at all.

Give it up. We all have bad days. This was yours.

Again, I'm going to have to ask you to read the log. I was stunned, and before I could even do anything, I was given windpipe and stunned again. So, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the log before your next post.

I give up. I'm showing you your own log, telling you what's in it, and you're still insisting that you lost because of an OP stun that 1) isn't that long, and 2) wasn't even in a time period that mattered, all while insisting you made the right choice in not hindering a monk.

I'm not sure what hindering you are referring to. Should I have webbed a faeling? He would have writhed and attacked before I regained equilibrium. If I had more chances to actually attack, there wouldn't have been a problem.
Unknown2008-03-12 04:37:16
I'm trying to figure out what your point is in this reply, Xavius, but I don't see it. In the log snippet you posted, Talkan did not fling aeon. The aeon tarot that you see is from enigma hitting which is unmasked now, the card that was flung according to the log is a lust. Additionally, the continual stun, paralysis, and being off balance made it extraordinarily difficult to move his parry. Keep in mind that at base balance (which Talkan is at), each lust toss is 4 seconds.

In this log, after Talkan's toss, he did not recover balance until after Ethelon's third combo. This is really incredibly fast if you account for all the stunning that is occurring in between where he is spending a decent portion of that time stunned and all of it off-balance and unable to move his parry. Any single mistake can be deadly fighting a monk while the monk does not suffer a similar penalty here. Additionally, Talkan sipped once before your log snippet (sipped mana) he was not able to regain sip balance until after 3 combos by Ethelon and thus was unable to apply to heal deepwounds in any form. Make sure to reread the log and double check for me that Ethelon had THREE combos before Talkan even had a chance to regain elixir balance. That is a clear problem that is most likely related to stealth rushing.
